Are NXT match results too predictable

I bring this up in part because of the exception that proves the rule: the tag title change caught me so off-guard because I'm completely used to feeling like I know the outcome of every match ahead of time.

That can't be too good of a thing.

I mean, I was pretty sure Corbin was going to beat Dempsey but that was the kind of match where there should have been some doubt. Yet any doubt I might have had was erased in the first 10 seconds or so of the match. At the very least, it should have been back-and-forth enough that there would have been a couple of moments where you thought Dempsey was going to win.

Even when Sami Z was on his losing streak, it seemed obvious that he was going to be losing ... and when he started turning into a winner that was obvious, too.

I think there is too much Star vs. Jobber stuff in NXT, and even Star vs. Star the pecking order is usually too obvious to think that a match is 50-50.

I will say that Zayne-Owen is intriguing and that it's a rare NXT toss-up to me, at least at this point.

Lucha Dragons losing wasn't really predictable. It was probably but that's not the same. I also don't know if Zayn vs Owens is going to be predictable. It gives Zayn a reason to move up after Wrestlemania. It doesn't make sense for the fact that Owens is new but it forces new match ups.

I think the tournament to determine the new #1 contender to the world title kept things a bit unpredictable. There were instances in the match between Neville and Kidd where I legit thought Kidd would've won. Itami vs. Balor will provide moments like that as well.

Yeah, weekly show matches are generally predictable. I was thinking awhile back that they should have more title changes on the weekly shows so we're not conditioned to the title win>rematch>title holder retains formula. It was way too obvious. They did it for literally every belt. With the Lucha Dragons losing on a random weekly episode, they planted the seed of doubt and gave us a sense of "anything can happen in the WWE :cole"

Yes, but if the stories are good and the wrestling is fantastic then predictability does not matter. All of the losses and victories in the Sami Zayn storyline meant something. Are you saying Sami Zayn should have lost to Nevile at Takover because the result was too predictable?
