Mark my word, if Baron Corbin goes to the main roster, the crowd will like him first but ones he gets a main event spot people will turn on him like rabid dogs
and then they will say this:
:dean2 :he has no mic skills!!!
:dead :cant believe that they push this talentless wreck instead Hideo Itami
enaldo :hes only good in squash matches, vinch just has just a boner for big guys
As of right now I cannot stand him. I don't get the presence or silent charisma a lot of people find appealing about him, I think he looks like a massive toddler and he doesn't entertain me in the slightest.
That being said and looking objectively, I'd say Baron Corbin is a long term investment. Providing he is willing to work hard there is no reason why he can't improve a great deal in every aspect. Perhaps in two or three years he will be able to nail it all, and do it consistently. If that is the case I can see people backing him and investing in him. I'm willing to keep an open mind on everyone in NXT and play the long game, it is still the developmental after all

Remember this show is supposed to be developmental. People who are on the show for development consistently get shit on by others because they're not as good as worldwide renowned stars like Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Kevin Owens, but no one should ever expect that.
I can see him being on the main roster by the end of this year.
His mic skills arent too bad, he's decent in the ring and he has what you cannot teach, presence. He's the type of guy who you notice once he walks in to a room.

No they won't, WF nerds will hate him regardless of what happens. The fact that he's already catching hate from some people is outrageous, but sadly expected.
It's hard to say what his future will be. Personally, I don't see anything special in him. This supposed presence he has, I don't see it.. Same with charisma, I don't think he oozes it as some claim. His face is boring and expresionless, really the only good thing he has going for him right now is his size.
We haven't seen anything from this guy to even try to accurately predict his future. He's never had a memorable match (understandable), but he's also never had a decent-length match on which we can judge him.. He's never done a regular promo etc.. I'm willing to give him a chance, especially since he hasn't even been on NXT for a year, but he should start having longer matches soon.
If Baron Corbin wins Royal Rumble match and main events WrestleMania few months into his singles push without showing anything special in the ring and on the mic then fans will have every right to complain...
Baron Corbin is so ahead of his time and so in the future that his hair already left the top of his skull, next year he'll be rocking the same haircut as earthquake.
I dont get why people are already hating him considering he hasnt had the chance to show his skillset in the ring and on the mic. He had a couple promos the past few weeks which were pretty good. His latest match with Dempsey although it went like 2 minutes showed he has some agility for a big man and can do some cool power moves.
I'll wait to see him in a 10-15 minute match to fully judge his ring work. The guy obviously has potential, and will probably debut 2016/2017 given him alot of time to improve where he needs to. As for his look, I'd think about possibly the bald look only cause he seems to be thinning at the top and in a couple years could have the Heyman look, so he be better off just being bald.
The early squash matches were cool, but the matches with Bull have exposed him a little bit because he's had to actually try to work and it hasn't worked out as well.
Except Corbin is neither muscular nor good looking and I was just determined to finally have an opinion of him considering all he did was win squashes for four months.
I feel ya. I wouldn't expect anyone who's not overly impressive in any department to start wowing people or turning heads. After all, if the name of the game is development, chances are, you're not going to be much of a standout or get people wanting to see what you do next so I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't really anything for you to enjoy.
Why are people comparing a developmental talent to a guy who is being pushed to the main event of WrestleMania 31?
People didn't necessarily have a problem with Reigns until it was dead obvious he was getting that treatment, and it's partially because he's not ready for it.
thats not what I see in that picture. I see someone that doesn't give a crap about the guy he's about to destroy..Although I guess maybe Baron should come out like some kind of fool Smiling and Running around and yelling about how hyped he is because that would be soooooooooo much better
People, he is going to be a star. What do you all not understand about that? Sad baby face? Are you serious? Baron Corbin has the size, the look, and overall ability to make a name for himself. His ring work has improved tremendously. That says a whole lot especially when he has no real experience in this business at all. It's like he was born to do this. Honestly, he reminds me of a young Mark Callaway aka The Undertaker. He has ring presence, and maturity at this point is unseen by most at this stage of their development. He defines cool at this point.
Who cares? He can always shave it. In two years he'll be a name making his presence felt in the Royal Rumble. Corbin is a legit "big guy". He isn't clumsy and his work has gotten much better in the ring. Remember, he is a true developmental project. I have trust in NXT. He went from this...
To this...
He did this in two years, actually less than two years. The only problem I have with him is this. The man has nothing in terms of entrance, nickname, and experience. He still needs seasoned. Another 18-24 months tops. Baron Corbin is way too normal, and I think he will need some sort of nickname. His entrance should mean something, long, cool song, and memorable.
Corbin is great he can easily pull that silent bad ass gimmick and he actually look like a complete bad ass he has that presence that he's about to fuck some one up something Vince goldenboy does not have I see big things for that young man.
i agree with you all that hes still in develepmont and is improving, but you know who also can pull of a silent badass gimmick: Roman Reigns and they ruined him by making him saying stupid shit that doesnt fit. so what if that gonna do that with Baron Corbin also make him do stuff that doenst fit and make the casual fans scrating there head like "is he serious"
