Long thread detailing the problems with Neville: http://www.wrestlingforum.com/nxt/11...lle-sucks.html

TBH I thought he looked like a star at ArRIVAL, but was back to his usual self on this week's NXT.

He's amazing in big match situations but like with RVD, the way he wrestles doesn't translate itself well into an average TV match. It just makes you feel like he is doing a combination of athletic moves with his opponent instead of actually wrestling and it wears down the novelty of his moves when he does them on a regular basis.

Still he's a great talent, probably the most precise and reliable high flier I've ever seen with the craziest move-set on top of it. The fact that he acknowledges his short-comings in promos might endear himself to the crowd a bit. You can't really change the way he looks or talks but you can try to sell him as an unwanted underdog who cannot be denied in the ring.

That self depreciating characteristic in his promos -will- win over a lot of people because they can identify with him. An ordinary Joe doing extraordinary things in the ring to win the title. Tell me that won't get a whole new generation interested in wrestling.

I thought he was a badass at Arrival as well. I didn't see the point in him labeling all his flaws this week though, basically making it seem like any old hack should just be able to become NXT champion if he can.

My girlfriend is starting up get into wrestling as she asked me last night if they were any English wrestlers and I Ofcourse mentioned Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre (explaining he's Scottish) but today I put on NXT only to see that the NXT champion is not only English but a Geordie (from Newcastle) making him a local lad!

Anyone got any links where I can check out some of my mans work?

And to everyone talking about his accent in that thread posted, I can tell you as somebody from the North-East of England that his accent is incredibly toned down.

Here's the match that apparently got him signed, vs Irish star Prince Devitt, in Japan:

The story goes that Regal showed Triple H this match, and Triple H gave PAC/Adrian Neville a tryout and signed him as a result, and has been looking to get Prince Devitt signed ever since (Devitt works for NJPW so he makes good money already).

I'll never get into him.

I'm from Southern England, but all of my mothers sides are Geordies (The nickname of people from Newcastle, like Neville) and even at the age of 20, i can still only understand maybe every third word my grandparents say? it's insane to me that we're speaking the same language, idk why, just never been able to understand or enjoy that paticular British accent.

Well he's not a generic high flier, dude currently does the most athletic spots in WWEs history. And I think I read he's gonna do that ridiculous inverted floppy dive in a few weeks. However, yeah, he's small compared to most wrestlers and his name is VERY boring. Plus no gimmick.

It could get really easy to be lost in midcard purgatory with his current look so really WWE are gonna have to let him be as insane in the main ring as he is right now.

Oh yeah, accent doesn't bother me but family is Scottish, Welsh, so I'm pretty good and understanding that stuff. Neville is also quite articulate.

I'll check that now, hopefully his and Bo's ladder match is in there as well.

And there goes Trips burying talent again, haha.

EDIT: just watched it (along with other videos of him) and that was a great match, some really nice technical work as well as the impressive high spots. This guy is definately not your generic high-flyer! He's doing stuff, that to my knowledge, has never been seen in the WWE before as far as the high-flying goes but that certainly isn't all he has to offer either. As I said, some nice technical work and some decent suplexes as well, plus he has a pretty muscular frame so its not too hard to believe him beating some of the bigger guys.

His name itself isn't any more boring than 'Daniel Bryan'. Sure, his character needs some developing but I think that is the case pretty much across the board at NXT.
