New Signee, Injury, Tryout News, New Diva Names

Quote:
"WWE has signed 'Trademark' Tommy Maclin to a developmental deal."

Maclin comes out of the Larry Sharpe-run Monster Factory in New Jersey. He's ripped, athletic and just getting started, as he's only been active since 2012. He joins a crowded developmental system that will make standing out a priority.

He certainly has the physical gifts to do just that. The Blue Meanie tweeted: "he has unlimited potential to succeed."
Quote:
PWInsider, via WrestleZone.com, reported on Dec. 13 that "Buddy Murphy of WWE NXT suffered a broken jaw at the NXT live event last night in Tampa."
Quote:

Opportunity came in the form of tryouts for several independent wrestlers recently.

PWInsider, via WrestlingInc.com, provides several of the names WWE was looking at over the weekend. The report lists "Pepper Parks, Mentallo, Ricochet, Martin Casaus, Bestia 666, Drake Younger and Gaylon Summers" as wrestlers who were confirmed at the tryouts.

According to PWMania.com, Robert Anthony of Resistance Pro Wrestling was among that group as well.

Bestia 666 has the advantage of having Rey Mysterio in his corner.

F4WOnline, via WrestleZone.com, reports, "Mysterio is a fan of Besta and has been the main guy helping him out and discussing his name to WWE officials as of late."

Ricochet is a speedy dynamo much like current NXT star Adrian Neville.

Younger is an excellent in-ring worker, but his size (5'9'') could have WWE officials shy away from him.

In addition to those folks trying to entice company scouts, PWMania.com reports that "several of Booker Tís students from his Reality of Wrestling promotion were backstage at TLC."

There's a chance that those wrestlers got a look from WWE as well.

With as aggressively as the company has been in search of new talent, the future will not be lacking. WWE continues to look at a variety of prospects from various backgrounds, a move that is destined to lead to some big-time future stars.
Quote:
Diva prospects Leah Van Damme and Ashley Sebera took an initial step in their NXT careers. WWE gave them both new monikers.

WrestlingInc.com reports that Van Damme will be known as Carmella and Sebera will go by Dana Brooke.

Van Damme is a former Laker girl, and Sebera is a former fitness model. Getting ring names is just the first stage of a long developmental process, as neither woman comes from a wrestling background.

Ricochet has to be signed up and Bestia666 should expand the market and has that wrestling family background that often seem to work. Chas Betts has an Olympic pedigree and should have a massive future. If Oliver Gray can come back, Neville, Rawley and Jordan can stay healthy then that looks like enough to fill the top positions.

Re: New Signee, Injury, Tryout News, New Diva Names

There's a lot of guys out there with those amateur wrestling credentials and Chas doesnt have the best look/size so hopefully theyve picked him up because of some natural charisma/mic ability.

With so many guys out there with the amateur ability, charisma, look and passion for pro wrestling should be how they separate the amateur guys.

IE more Angles (boundless charisma) and Lesnars (look/huge size) and less Swaggers.

There's plenty out there with some amateur ability but not many with Olympic pedigree and it just raises the bar. Betts is maybe too small like you say but hoping he'll do well

Betts seemed like a Lance Storm clone from his leaked practice promo, although to be fair it was probably his first time.

Re: New Signee, Injury, Tryout News, New Diva Names

Olympic Pedigree would mean something IF we hadn't already had Angle. It will create even more of a comparison which wont go favorably for almost anyone...
