Updates on Cody Hall & David Benoit

Quote:

- We noted before that David Benoit, son of Chris Benoit, is interested in becoming a pro wrestler and has trained with Harry Smith, among others recently. Benoit's ultimate goal is to get into WWE. Benoit, through an intermediary, and Cody Hall, Scott Hall's son, have had people check to see if they could join the New Japan Pro Wrestling dojo.

I just can't see WWE ever picking up David Benoit.

Cody Hall is doing the right thing. It's probably scott wanting his kid to learn all other styles before going to the E. Cody just needs to find his persona only so long before the novelty of his fathers gimmick wears off. Cody is a future star though he's everything the wwe wants

Cody Hall is like 6'6 or 6'7, he towers over his dad, who was already tall himself. He's only in his earliest stages of training, but I can see a place for him if he turns out good.
I don't want to say David Benoit shouldn't, because he should be allowed to chase his dream of wrestling regardless of what his father did, but he's gonna have a hard time regardless.

The NJPW Dojo is a waste of time? It's one of the world's best for learning conditioning and fundamentals. You won't come out of that training sloppy or lacking in fineese and stamina.

It's a great place for a guy like him to learn.

I think he's talking about David's training being a waste of time if his goal is WWE.

No its not, the WWE will change his name for TV but in terms of a PR standpoint-if Benoit's son wants to work for them, it helps to wash any potential guilt for the Benoit murders off WWEs hands (in terms of concussions etc)

I expect he would change his name long before he looked to get into WWE.

Cody has the size, but he's green as all hell. Got to see him at an indy show a month or two ago. He was in a 6-man tag, and whenever he entered, he kinda stood around waiting to be told what to do. Like, he'd hit a move, and just stand kinda looking at the other dude, waiting for him to get up and proceed into the next chain of moves. But I think it was one of his first matches. He seems dedicated and WANTING to work these indy shows to get experience, so all the power to him for trying to learn on his own instead of just using daddy's name to get right into WWE developmental.

I wish he would develop his gimmick or at least his own look. There's is only so far lyou can go doing daddy's gimmick.
