If your a long time wrestling fan as myself youve probably realized WWE has a pattern of airing a 3rd addition to their two main branding shows(Smackdown and Raw).Over the years ive realized that these 3rd party brands or shows usually die off in a short time such as Saturday Night Velocity,Sunday Night Heat, ECW(When it was relaunched in 2006),NXT(Im aware its on the internet now) and WWE Main Event.Everytime WWE airs these I just see them as future failures and I really think there just a waste of money.Has anyone else noticed this? Or is it just me?

I think the trend for failures for these types of shows probably started around the time the then wwf and wcw started featuring shows that pitted major stars against each other more regularly. For example, why watch Barry Horowitz get splattered on saturday when you can watch Jake the Snake square off against Brett Hart on Monday night? You had no idea who would win at the time whilst the weekend shows became boring due to the new content being shown on new monday night shows.
Granted this is just a theory thats all. As to a solid reason why this happens who knows?

Not if they don't let the show just become another jobber vs jobber show or on specials anything more than jobber beats jobber(which makes the winner obvious) without any build up or storyline/angle. Take Superstars for example the same guy fighting each other week after week you would think WWE would let them cut a 2 min promo on each other now and again or something to give us a reason to care at all.
I think it's more 50/50 than all of them tbh. Fails: ECW, Superstars, Velocity (Wasn't that bad). Not Fails: Main Event (not yet), Heat (Had a good run), NXT (is amazing!).

This show will lose but they should erase Superstars all together. Having SMS, Main Event and Smackdown the same night is a crowd killer. Eliminate Superstars before Raw and do SMS Tapings instead while Smackdown does the main event tapings. Or they can do it the other way around which is better because all superstars are on Raw basically every Monday.
Main Event is awesome and it is not a brand, it is a way to showcase upper mid-carders and put over upcoming talent. I don't want to see the Usos beat the PTP every other week though. Put stuff like Barret Vs. Sheamus on there and put Barrett over or something like that.

Because no straight grown men actually take time to analyze staged combat between two half-naked men.
No, because they are actually treating it more like the B-show and Smackdown has become the C-show. The matches and the talent currently is stronger on this show than Smackdown.
