Why is WWE trying to sell us Richie Steamboat and Bo Dallas as the future?
I mean, I know they are young and all of this, but news are talking about the two of them being upgraded to the main roster. They have prominent roles in NXT as well. And I just cannot understand it.
They are bland and uninspired. Generic look, generic "personality"(smiling and brisk babyfaces hungry of competition= same old crap), generic wrestling skills... Even if Corey Graves is too green at least they should be using Rick Victor and Ascension Conor O'Brien instead of those two drones.

Richie Steamboat is a top little worker, I'm really looking forward to tracking his apparent rise. As far as Bo Dallas goes though, I don't see it. I'm with you on that one.

Agreed. However, do you remember how bland Rocky Maivia was when he first debuted? I'm not suggesting either of these men will amount to his level, but give them some time first. Neither have been on the main roster yet.

Both guys basically grew up in the business, so the dedication is there. Something that we don't see too often in many talents in WWE. But hopefully this doesn't end up like a DiBiase or McGillicutty thing where WWE slightly tried making them like their fathers and failed altogether.

Re: Why is WWE trying to sell us Richie Steamboat and Bo Dallas as the future?
Because their dads work for the company, simple as that.
The weirdest thing about Dallas, apart from his total lack of everything required to be a successful wrestler, is that his father wasn't a face or even a big name, he was a midcard heel who relied on a clearly defined gimmick to get over. At least with Steamboat you can understand why they might see potential in him trying to emulate his dad, but barely anyone remembers IRS and certainly not in the role that they look like they are trying to fill with Bo Dallas.

I really hope they can prove me wrong but both of these guys have a Justin Gabriel like ceiling to me. Even Gabriel has more of a chance to reach Kofi Kingston levels but it's hard to imagine these guys making a serious impact when you look at the alternatives in NXT right now and going forward.
One way they could get me interested in Dallas would be to have Wyatt corrupt him at some point after playing his current character for awhile and have him play the Kidman/Syxx role in The Family. They don't have to change his name to Bo Wyatt and acknowledge that they really are siblings or anything. It's just an idea. Since they do need more faces, it's a bit of long shot anyway.
Steamboat might be able to shake off the blandness at some point but until then he's got very little to offer when compared to his competition.
Re: Why is WWE trying to sell us Richie Steamboat and Bo Dallas as the future?
I personally wouldn't call Graves green. I haven't looked into the facts, but I'd say he's one of the veterans on the NXT roster.
I personally don't see much in either Dallas or Steamboat. They're okay, but I think they'll peak as midcarders. I think that Dallas will always be in the shadow of his brother, which I honestly prefer because Husky Harris becoming Bray Wyatt is like Rocky Maivia becoming The Rock in my honest opinion. And Steamboat is just generic to me. He's been in development for years, and really isn't that good in my opinion. Just seems like he's kept around because of who his father is and they're banking on him becoming what his father was, which I just don't see happening.

Heaven forbid WWE trying to promote young wrestlers who are going to be involved in the future of the E as the future of the E................wait a minute! Thats it! WWE are selling them as the future because they will be here in the future, future main eventers who knows but they're going to be apart of the next 10/20/30 years if they develop right.
