Either a black president or a female vice president. Better get started on that bomb shelter I was about to build.
But seriously, imagine her walking into a debate against a seasoned vet like Biden. High risk, high reward as far as I'm concerned.
As far as her investigation, she offered the guy a different state position and he turned it down. I believe he was the Commissioner of Public Safety. He simply suggested he was fired because he wouldn't fire a state trooper that made threats on his ex and her family. I would probably attribute that to union solidarity more than anything. That's about all I know but I don't think this will be that big of a deal.
But it looks like from that article she has a history of "overcoming the odds". But still feels like "Hey we need our version of Obama" We need a political rock star that can energize the party".
Very much wait and see though and pretty exciting in my eyes.

Re: McCain picks Sarah Palin as VP candidate
She has a son in the army that is deploying to Iraq. That right there squashes the argument about Iraq that "it isn't their sons and daughters over their."
Not that they should be anymore.

I completely understand why you don't want to vote, but why not vote for another party? Libertarian Party or even write in Ron Paul? I am not coming down on you for it, just curious. I honestly have not voted in every election I could have, but just curious why you choose not to completely?

Like Algernon said, she is a high risk, high reward pick for McCain. A good of people think she is a perfect for him but at the same time realize that she is gamble pick for him. She is young(44), attractive, has a good record in her first two years as Gov. of Alaska and can steal a good amount of the women's votes from Obama. It's a gamble for McCain but it might just work.

Because like I mentioned, those two votes I did do was before I learned certain things about voting and whatnot. Now that I know certain things, I'm not going to vote. Those things that I speak of, we don't really need to get into that because I don't feel like explaining all of it which it ties in with many other subjects like a spider web so I'd rather just not go there.
Also just to clarify it, I do support Ron Paul, met him three times and showed my support. He's one of my heroes to be honest with you.

I don't think this is going to help McCain for wooing hardcore Clinton supports. Hillary supports abortion rights, Palin doesn't. It'll go like this:
"A woman for VP? McCain has my vote...oh...they don't support abortion rights...the black Muslim guy does...*grumble*....ugh, fine Hussein, I'm voting for you"

Re: McCain picks Sarah Palin as VP candidate
I just got home for work and let me just say that I think Sarah is kinda hot
McCain obviously wants to pull the disgruntle Hilary supporters with this move but what he gains in that area he'll lose when it comes to the economy. The economy is in the shitter, inflation has gone crazy, people are losing their houses, and most importantly people are losing their jobs. Since McCain has admitted he doesn't know much about the economy, Mitt would had been the perfect pick. Romney eat, sleeps, and breaths finances

True, but the evangelicals (sp?) aren't big fans of Romney if I am correct. Bush barely won the 2000 election because the evangelicals didn't turn out for that election (I still believe Bush didn't win that election fairly.) Sarah Palin is a decent pick for McCain, as she is young (younger than Barack I believe) and could pull in some angry Clinton supporters. One negative is that McCain can't use the "Barack has no experience" card anymore, seeing as his VP pick has less than Obama. However, I still believe Obama is going to win this election by a good margin. Last night's speech was just too good and McCain as we all know doesn't have the best mic skills in the world.
