I will admit this is too much effort to name a 100 but pick any songs sung by these ladies and I'm sure they'll be 100.

Lzzy Hale
Hayley Williams
Amy Lee
Cristina Scabbia
Tarja Turenen
Anette Olzen
Elize Ryd
Danni Monroe
Alanis Morisette
Gwen Stefani
Sheryl Crow
Alissa White Gluz
Otep
Angela Gossow
Joan Jett
Ann Wilson
Alize (sexy voice in French or English)
and I do like Lady Gaga's voice just not her music.

Thought i'd do something different, was trying to come up with a top 100 of all times but it's too damn hard to choose just 100 out of so many greats. Figured i'd make a top 50 of my favorite tracks that came out this year (challenging myself by putting an artist only once). Maybe this could introduce some people to awesome new music like Cody and Anark that asked me for a list a while back.

Certainly not a definitive order as some of these I jotted down as they popped into my head. This covers a myriad of different genres.

Favorite female performed tracks of 2013:

1 Pazes - Frozen

2 Goldfrapp - Drew (best thing they've done since Felt Mountain)

3 Chelsea Wolfe -We Hit a Wall (she is amazing, haunting.. struggled between this track, "Feral Love" and "Reins")

4 CocoRosie - Child Bride ( a must-listen to artist if you like Bjork)

5 Goat- Goathead (this band fucking rocks!)

6 Andreya Triana - Song For A Friend (gorgeous voice, very underrated R&B singer)

7 Laura Mvula- That's Alright (funky as hell and soulful, fans of Janelle and Erykah Badu will love her)

8 Lightning Dust - Loaded Gun (not as brilliant as their 2009 track "Never Seen", but still awesome)

9 Widowspeak - Calico

10 Rachel Zeffira - The Deserters (very emotional stuff from the sopranos-trained lead singer of Cat's Eyes)

11 Emily Wells - Becomes the Colour (from the Stoker Soundtrack)

12 Julia Holter - World

13 Black Bananas - Hey Rockin' (this band fucking rocks!)

14 Laura Marling - Master Hunter

15 Trentemoller - Come Undone (feat Kazu Makino; the lead singer of Blonde Redhead. Haunting and beautiful)

16 Carmen Villain - Lifeissin

17 Shortcircles - Patience

18 Lady Lamb the Beekeeper - Bird Balloons (album for this took me by surprise)

19 Cold Specks - A Case for Shame (produced by Moby)

20 Janelle Monae feat. Prince - Givin' Em What They Love

21 The Pack A.D. - Battering Ram (this band fucking rocks!)

22 Deap Vally - Baby I Call Hell

23 Fiona Apple - Hot Knife

24 Sussanna Sonata - Death Hanging

25 Julianna Barwick - Pyrrhic

26 Melody's Echo Chamber - Crystallized

27 The Joy Formidable - Little Blimp

28 Denai Moore - The Lake

29 Buke and Gase - Houdini Crush (experimental indie-pop/rock)

30 Emika - Wicked Games (one of the best covers in recent memory)

31 mm - Toothwheels (trippy instrumentation, very unique)

32 The Knife - A Tooth For An Eye

33 Neko Case - Night Still Comes (thanks Hanoi )

34 Husky Rescue - Tree House (such an underrated band)

35 Fielded - Eve of a New Moon

36 Abbe May - Trouble (new direction for Abbe, but she's still awesome)

37 Foxygen - Shuggie

38 Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside - They Told Me

39 Saroos - Henderson Island

40 Laura Stevenson - L-DOPA (pimped in i$e's thread, very good stuff)

41 Fol Chen - 200 Words

42 Zola Jesus - Fall Back

43 Oh Land - Renaissance Girls

44 How to Destroy Angels -Ice Age (Trent Reznor produced)

45 Lusine - Another Tomorrow

46 MSMR- Bones (thanks TehJerichoFan )

47 Lavender Diamond - Oh My Beautiful World

48 The History of Apple Pie - Don't You Wanna Be Mine?

49 TOKiMONSTA - Spilling Autumn

50 Marnie - Sugarland (Ladytron lead singer, a guilty pleasure)

Musically, 2013 has been kicking all sorts of ass.

Dreams is far and away my #1. I don't give a fuck what anyone says that song and album (Fleetwood Mac's Rumors) kicks so much ass.

My #2 is Nothing Compares 2 U. Probably the best breakup song ever. Prince is a fucking genius songwriter.

I Have a soft spot for My Favorite Mistake. Reminds me of the good times with my ex wife. Great breakup song.

Stop Draggin' My Heart Around is a phenomenal song. Without cheating I believe Tom Petty wrote it? Not that it matters. Still a great song.

Time After Time is one of the best pop songs the last 30 years and it's only #69? Ummmm ok.

How the fuck is Fade Into You only #79? Wow.

Adele has a fantastic voice I don't give a shit what anyone says. You could easily have a few of her songs on this list. I love Rumor Has It.

One of the best songwriters around right now is a chick named Kathleen Edwards. Amazing singer/songwriter from Canada. Has a song called Mercury that blows me away.

Biggest snub on this list is no Shadowboxer by Fiona Apple. Criminal is a great song but Shadowboxer is her best. I think her voice is sexy as hell.

My top 5 favorite wrestlers of all time
1. Macho Man Randy Savage (RIP...thanks for the memories)
2. Mick Foley (Cactus Jack)
3. Bret Hart (The Hart Foundation best tag team ever)
4. Sting
5. Ted DiBiase (best heel of all time)

& thanks for the head's up, blarg. wouldn't have found this if you didn't pinpoint the location. I half expected Goldfrapp to top the list. #2. I wasn't far off.

Only song I've actually heard from the list if the Laura Stevenson song and thought it was trash. I'll remain ever hopeful, however.

Oh yeah my answer...a lot from Gaga, Nightwish, Hayley Williams Project, Madonna, CHVRCHES, etc. You know, shit I never stop talking about.

Wouldn't be a Cody post if shots weren't fired, but this time i've come with teh heavy artillery. Finally listened to that CHVRCHES album and found it painfully average #drive-bybodypierce

but i'm sure you'll find something to love since there's a lot of variety in my list. I only checked Laura Stevenson out because i$e, Seabs, SI, Crusade and TLK were praising the album as a "must listen", and tbf it took me a few songs in to appreciate her music. I think she's a promising uptart with a good voice and emotive delivery, and the praise she gets is at least warranted to some degree.

For the Goldfrapp tune, you'll only love that if you enjoyed the dreamy downtempo "Portishead" esque era of Felt Mountain Goldfrapp. Alison isn't trying too hard to be Funky Electro Diva Queen on here.

Will do, i'll try to hunt down an album of theirs before I hit the road this weekend

Likewise, check out Ben Lukas Boysen's Gravity album from this year since you're going through an ambient kick. Wanted to rep you that when I saw your latest post in the Electronic thread, but i'm also a cheap whore that has to spread around.
