Jason Becker Altitudes is better than anything Hendrix ever done on guitar. So is Paul Gilbert's Technical Difficulties.
There's merit to this, but one has to take into account that Jimi laid a large chunk of the foundation that subsequent players drew from, particularly as a pioneer of turning rock n roll into a sonic science experiment. Hendrix is also grossly underrated in terms of stage performance, his antics were innovative in they're own right. But the real mind-fuck for me is asking myself, 'what would he have done had he not passed away?'. Such a shame there's only a limited body of work.

I was a huge Chili Peppers fan pre-BSSM. Back when George Clinton was producing their albums and they 'had their noses to the funk stone'. Chilis could do a lot of things that Jane's Addiction couldn't in terms of crossing genres, which ultimately ended in them finding a formula that earned them immense success. I don't particularly like the new material as much though myself.

I don't think very many people are familiar with their early material, but it certainly adds to their credibility as artists in my eyes.

Jane's Addiction are another act with a limited body of work and outside of Ritual and Shocking I rarely listen their other albums. Ritual de lo Habitual is one of the greatest albums ever made though. For real.

It wasn't just his playing, but his studio contributions too that makes him the greatest ever. Although to be fair, his playing was legendary. He had different types of playing and could play to various genres. And I've never even heard of those other guys you mentioned.

It's called an opinion. And the Beatles took their ideas from someone else just like Elvis.

Though he's a fan of pop music, therefore his opinion in this case is irrelevant. If he doesn't like the genre, it doesn't mean that it's not good.

Come together over me sounds like a slowed version of a chuck Berry song.
Beatles were definitely took some ideas from some people. I heard they wanted to be like the beach boys.
