I don't know anyone who has listened to Sahara Hotnights. They're in my top 5, so I'll just share a couple songs of theirs in case you guys have never heard them. Definitely recommend all 4 albums.

I know, right? Same here. I'm ashamed at myself.

on topic of Paramore - the Brand New Eyes album was pretty bad. Really underwhelming follow up to RIOT. They should be ashamed too. Ignorance, though, was brilliant.

Aww bne's my favorite Para album! I don't know, maybe it's because it was the first one I listened to right when it came out. Something about it is always gonna have a special place in my musical heart.

Re: Your favorite female rock/metal bands

I'm tough on it b/c I wasn't particularly into the slower approach from the album on the whole. The Only Exception stuck out, and was a logical pick for a single, but when the whole album focused around that style more than blending the energy with the solace, I wasn't 100% feeling it. Not to mention I feel Brick By Boring Brick is their most overrated song ever. Also hated Playing God.

Going from RIOT to that was a bit of a decline, imo.

I'll admit that it's definitely a slower paced album. And that Brick By Boring Brick is usually a skipped song on my mp3, but it picks up on quite a few tracks. Feeling Sorry, Looking Up, Where The Lines Overlap and especially Ignorance really get it moving. Playing God is hit or miss for me, though. Some days I skip it and some days I have it on repeat

Shit how bout some love for that big red couch known as All We Know is Falling?! Conspiracy has to be my GOAT Paramore song with All I Wanted right behind it. Oh and Never Let This Go? My first "favorite" Paramore song

Re: Your favorite female rock/metal bands

I can give it a listen again tonight. Probably will b/c off the top of my head the last few tracks on Brand New Eyes all run together in my mind. (see, they're not even vivid with my recollection, that says it all.) Ignorance is too good though. One of their best songs without a doubt. I'm big on the energetic Paramore tracks. Feel that's where they shine, despite the range Hayley can show with any tone.

When it comes to AWKIF, it's EMERGENCY ALL DAY. Still my favorite song. Yeah, Born For This and others from RIOT can come close b/c they're great, but Emergency The track that hooked me in and showed me Hayley. It's eternally going to rule the roost.

RIOT as an album is five stars. No doubt.

I have to listen to their self titled some more to form my full opinion on it, tbhayley.

I wouldn't be surprised if he meant the Jagged Little Pill era which is where her career officially rebooted and took off with an image makeover. tbf it wasn't a horrible record in a 'pleasant tones & harmonies' kinda way, but to me is mostly memorable for being that record with the song Ironic that ironically contains no instances of actual irony (aside from the plane crash line).

Re: Your favorite female rock/metal bands

I left a few out. Benatar, Cranberries, Mazzy Star...also a fan of those chicks as well. Technically, Tina Turner was rock & roll and I really dug her when I was young, she could kill it onstage. Oh, and Ronstadt is one of my faves but she is mostly country, although some of her early hits are considered rock & roll.
