Re: Your favorite female rock/metal bands

Didn't mention Mayberry b/c the topic seemed to keep it general to rock & metal bands. If I could name any female vocalist I love then good lord. Everyone would be put down.

lolz I made the exact same response as Hanoi. Classy.

Re: Your favorite female rock/metal bands

Let's talk about Paramore now. I've read on Cracked (yeah, I know) that they were created by a corporation for the media. Are a fake band. Link. But Wikipedia says that they were all friends since childhood. So what is up with them? Which story is real?

I accept Hayley Williams rep.

Re: Your favorite female rock/metal bands

Conspiracy theories about Paramore? Oh this funny world. What would be the purpose for the media in creating a band that isn't even the largest global juggernaut around? IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. Although, it does if the world wanted us to all notice and worship Hayley. Mission accomplished you conformist bastards.

Re: Your favorite female rock/metal bands

If she fits this category, I would also add Avril Lavigne to my list. She's kinda Pop Rock, Pop Punk, Power Pop. Like Paramore.

Just bringing up this question, because it went unnoticed and I want somebody to answer it.

Laura has truly a powerful and emotive voice which really makes you feel. Also has written some of the best lyrics I've ever read.

Anneke Van Giersbergen:- Has one of the most powerful and emotional female vocals I've ever heard much like Laura Stevenson. I'm not too into her music but everything she's collaborated with Devin Townsend has turned into literal gold as Devin's albums Addicted and Epicloud have shown. Have also had the pleasure of hearing this woman sing live and it is utterly breathtaking to say the least.

Re: Your favorite female rock/metal bands

I despise the term 'female fronted band' because it's...well, it's a bit silly really innit. Anyway...

The Gathering - Anneke era...Mandylion is a fucking masterpiece, and the couple of albums following it aren't bad either.
Made Out Of Babies - Fucking Julie Christmas...what a voice. What a presence. The Jesus Lizard fronted by a demented, wailing and very angry banshee.
Aghora - First album is an absolute marvellous piece of progressive metal. Formless is also an excellent metal release.
Acid King - Heavy as fuck doom/sludge metal with some mighty fine hollerin' from Lori S.
Melt Banana - Yasuko is a marvel. The band as a whole are pretty special.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - I first got into them thanks to the song 'Zero', and was hooked. So much character in Karen O's vocals.
The Devil's Blood - Satan worshipping heavy rock from the Netherlands.
Dead Can Dance - JUST LISTEN to Lisa Gerrard. Not really a rock/metal band but fuck it they're worth a mention.

Also...Jefferson Airplane, Fleetwood Mac et al.

Thought I'd post a song by Made Out Of Babies. These guys were criminally underrated. Didn't really think much of Battle Of Mice though (Julie's other band).

"Yes, I can hear you Clem Fandango!"

Re: Your favorite female rock/metal bands

Paramore, i like hayley's voice and her attitude too. And what about Otep, her singer Otep Shamaya, is a beast, that guttural vocals are awesome.

Nightwish, only with Tarja.
