Default NIN signs to Columbia; new album this year.

ďIíve been less than honest about what Iíve really been up to lately,Ē says Trent in a press release. ďFor the last year Iíve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!Ē

SUPER excited for this news, i've been following this developement for a while now. He was originally supposed to write new material for an upcoming "Best of" with a supporting tour, so it's fucking awesome that we'll be getting the first new proper full length LP since Year Zero (not counting the Slip and Ghosts). I loved the new HTDA and what he did on Fincher's movies, so this holds the promise that he can still deliver.

Looking to get tickets for Montreal, this would mark the 4th time I see them live

Fucking hate you.

Nah, but you saw them at LITS in 08 and which other tour? Just curious.

Apparently Adrian Belew is now out of the line-up as well, so that makes two with Avery dropping out earlier. But THE ROBIN is back so it's all good. Familiar NIN is good, though who knows what could've been with the two guys, not too familiar with either of them.

Also new single expected for July 6, or so is the rumour. A WEEK FROM NOW OH SHIT OH SHIT.

First time I saw them was Fragility v2.0 in 2000, (one of my earliest concerts actually, and i'll always remember it for getting accidently knocked out on the floor during the Head like a Hole breakout). Also saw them in 2005 while they were supporting With Teeth, and of course LITS which was the best of the 3 despite Boris being shitty, not having the best seating and having a bad cold that day. The LITS experience was just amazing, and the crowd was very into it, especially during the NIN logo graphic at the end which is perhaps the most energetic concert moment i've ever been a part of. Trent was generous and played a bunch of extra tracks to cap things off.

That new lineup looks stellar, but i'm disappointed that Alessandro Cortini won't be with them this year, I was a big fan of the latest SONOIO stuff ( Enough ) and was hoping he'd contribute again. Finck being back on board is definitely a good thing, and it'll be interesting to see what Adrian brings to the table since he's a legend and King Crimson's Discipline is unfuckwithable (Hanoi, hope I spelled that correctly)

Well fuck me gently with a wirebrush. I could've sworn that he wasn't on the lineup list I last saw. All is good now in the world.

New single is titled Came Back Haunted and comes out Thursday!

ďHarkens back to early Nine Inch Nails,Ē says Lisa Worden, Music Director for Los Angeles alternative station KROQ (a Radio.com station).

ďI think itís in line with the first two albums,Ē Worden continues. ďItís got a great beat, itís not the experimental material Trentís done in the last five years.Ē

Worden indicated the song didnít strike her as angry. Rather, the beat is what made an impression. ďI wouldnít say that itís dance-y, but it does have a great beat, a groove. Trent really brought it with this song. Itís going to sound amazing to new fans and old. Itís just cool.Ē

Wonder what they mean by the "experimental" stuff since Trent experimented on all his records barring maybe Pretty Hate Machine (which was the most accessible). I'm not expecting another Ghosts if that's what they're referring to.

Boris was really bad that night. Not sure if it was their equipement or selection of songs, but their music didn't translate well into a big Arena. I would've rather been listening to white noise atm tbh.
