I definitely like GnR's Live and Let Die better, it was a lot heavier and after hearing it, Paul's version just seems too light for my taste. As for Knockin' on Heaven's Door, I think they're equal. I like both Dylan and GNR's version, they're both completely different. Not a huge fan of Eric Clapon's version. Love the guitar in the song but overall not digging it that much. Also, Manson's Sweet Dreams over the Eurythmics. Obviously Annie has the better voice, but I like the metal riffs in that song and just prefer Mansons rough vocals on that track.
Shinedown's version of Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynard
Shinedown's version of With A Little Help From My Friends by Beatles
Shinedown's version of Times Like These by Foo Fighters
Nice way to put all the covers from that Somewhere in the Stratosphere acoustic show. I enjoy all of it.
Well, fine. If Frooot can list covers of favorite band, then I shall do that as well. For those that may dislike the following videos, prepared to get rustled. Note that of out these videos, only one I actually prefer better than the original but that's because of tempo.
Alter Bridge - Kashmir (Led Zeppelin)
Alter Bridge - Rock and Roll (Led Zeppelin)
Note, these videos was filmed in 2005, so his voice had a somewhat different tone back then. I wonder how they would perform it today?
"And at that point, Billy, your house starts to shake, the heavens opened up, and God, himself, spoke to you and said this, Bob, but my name is Billy. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS." - The Rock.

IMO - Metallica have impeccably great taste in picking songs to cover but have never done one better than the original, even on the original Garage Days which rocks but most of those lack the finesse of the originals.
anyway, thank the Big Lebowski s/t for these gems
edit - @777- Tom Waits and Cat Power have done great versions of that song too
