I looked through all the past threads to make sure nobody asked this, and didn't see any. It is something I have always wondered about, no matter what internet forum I have ever been on.

What's with all the hate people have for Nickleback? Now, I am not a big fan, I don't have any of their cd's, but I do have a few songs on my ipod and I don't think they all sound bad. Can anyone tell me why so many people just outright hate them? I really don't get it. I will also go on record as saying their song "Burn It to the Ground" made the best Raw theme song. There, I said it. Feel free to disagree, but at least give me something better than "they suck".

It's just something that became cool to say. Like the Kofi Kingston hate on this forum. Some probably really hate them, others just say it to be cool. Plus they're Canadian, which just makes it easier to make fun of them here in America.

Probably because of How You Remind Me, which started off bad, and got progressively worse the more you heard it, which was about 12 times a day here.

They may have good songs (I distinctly remember hearing a good one before that single blew up, forgot the name years ago though). However, if one that isn't great is the one that gets huge airplay, and they don't follow it up with anything interesting, they'll get hate.

The singer seems like a tool, too.

EDIT - originally mentioned that singer claimed to invent grunge as a child - think that was actually the Puddle Of Mudd guy. another terrible band

They are just a generic band, nothing truly special about them but at the same time they are massive.

They are far from the worst band ever though
