Re: Why all the hate?

What Gimmicks said but it was Rockstar that blew up here and you couldn't go a day without hearing it, having them as a RAW theme didn't help either speshly in the UK when they repeat the song over and over until the american coverage came out of adbreak.

Re: Why all the hate?

Nickelback isn't hated, I think that people are just dying for them to go away or evolve their shtick.

They were hailed Chart's Artist Of The Year, despite having been creatively redundant and stale since the moment they formed. The guitarist Ryan Peake even told fans they were used to having people imply they were the exact same kind of generic, corporate rock, manufactured band as the likes of 3 Doors Down, and that it didn't bother him at all.

Their goal is to keep making the same crap till it stops selling, burrowing into the industry like the pestilent irritation they are. This is not to say they're stupid though. These guys went platinum several times. Nickelback obviously knows what their researched target demographic wants and won't ever deviate from that as long as his brand keeps selling CD's, no matter how big their artistic integrity is.

Every song they've ever produced are so redundant and unchallenging that the parallels between the lyrics here and every angst-driven rhyming straight out of your average highschool notebook is borderline disturbing. They're like the robots from the stepford wives, their formula and clichés is something everyone is bored to death of by now.

I mean seriously, it's been how many decades now that we've had to put up with this exact same kind of overproduced, pseudo-emotional garbage recycled on the Billboard charts? I almost feel bad for being Canadian, we've given you guys some of the worse music ever produced, but to our credit, you're the ones that bought it
