Christmas Playlist Suggestions

Alrighty guys and gals, I've been asked to 'DJ' (well, stand behind a laptop) at my local tomorrow night, and they've given me an hour or two to spin some Christmas tunes. However, rather than playing the usual festive folly like Wizzard and John Lennon, I'm going to mix it up and play some relatively unknown Christmas crackers.

Unfortunately, I don't know many so I am asking for your assistance. I have one and that's 'Christmas In Hollis' by Run DMC. Anything humorous/metal/rock/against-the-norm is a bonus. Cheers.

Re: Christmas Playlist Suggestions

I should point out that I'm not really looking for 'haha funny' humorous Christmas songs, but ones that put a shit eating grin on your face. I've added another one with Lemmy and Billy Gibbons doing 'Run Rudolph Run', and 'Merry Christmas (I don't Wanna Fight Tonight)' by The Ramones. Cheers for the suggestion though Dunkums.

Re: Christmas Playlist Suggestions

Even though it's pretty well known, this could be a good twist of a song since it starts off slow in a 'lighters up' kind of way, and it switches to a headbangin' rock song

I don't know, I really like it. Could make for a great 'last song'.

"Everything you do in life echoes throughout eternity."

Re: Christmas Playlist Suggestions

Play 'Over and Over again' by Peter Kay, it is therefore, 100% deadly serious, and is no way funny and lighthearted. It's will get a shit eating grin on the people's faces, they'll probably know it too because your in the UK.

Re: Christmas Playlist Suggestions

My favorite all time Christmas song is Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty macColl. I don't know if you're aware of it, (If you're american,) but seek it out if not. It's massively popular in the UK. Also, there are a lot of great covers around of it.

And this bad story; About a decade ago, The Pogues came to whoever and asked if they could play Fairytale of New York with Bjork singing Kirsty MacColls part. Whoever it was, whether it be the BBC or whoever, said no and insisted that they sang with Katie Melua instead. Let that sink in...

I like this one, too;

A bit depressing but it's a nice song to remember people with.
