He'll always be my #1 favorite artist. I grew up with him & I'm proud to say I've been a big fan way before his death.

They like how he emotes vocally, his dancing, the big productions with his videos and concerts, and the messages in some of his big songs. MJ is fun, creative, has one of a kind stage presence in his live performances. He had so many elements added to his performance and as an artist that a lot of people fell in love with and still are today.

If you've seen the creative music videos he's been involved with you can probably get an idea why people like him so much even if it isn't particularly your thing.

Plus, a lot of MJ's long time fans literally grew up with him from his early beginnings in with the Jackson 5/The Jacksons to when he first started producing music with Quincy Jones in the late 70s. There's a lot of history and memorable moments over those years.

I'll always be an MJ mark.. His first five solo albums are some of the best albums of all time (Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and History) that alone makes him the G.O.A.T.

Thriller is arguably the most monumental album ever released.

Talent/charisma draws. Not size.

Michael's creative direction is one that is only rivaled by very few performers. That aspect of his career has arguably molded him into the legend that he is regarded as today. It also doesn't hurt that he influenced a generation of artists like Beyonce and Lady Gaga.

What is overrated about him is his discography. I believe Off The Wall is his best album, followed by Bad. Thriller is one of the most overrated albums of all time. The discography of his fellow contemporaries such as Madonna and Prince are better and more consistent, in my opinion.

I think his discography is underrated.. People only seem to talk about Thriller and Bad. No one cares to remember how great OTW, Dangerous and even History are.

Hell, to this day I'll still don't understand why Invincible got the amount of negative reviews it did.. Imo, it's a really good album.
