First, last and best gigs attended?

This might be interesting, never see much gig discussion on here

First - MC Hammer 1990, dude was the fuckin man at the time, I was too young to be aware of the concept of support acts so some RnB guy came out and started singing I thought that was Hammer(seats were waaay back), only coped it when he went into some hit he had, then SNAP! came on and I thought that was Hammer, was wondering why he was doing 'Ive got the power', that wasnt one of his tunes was it?,
no mistake once the lad himself finally showed up though

Last - Dead Can Dance a few nights ago, fantastic gig slightly ruined by me having a cunt of a headcold.

Best - Mars Volta london 2008, 3 hours of head melting madness, unreal.

lets hear em, anyone got a cooler first gig than Hammer?

First: Helix 1989?. Why they were playing a gig in my town is beyond me.

Last: Black Label Society/Protest the Hero - This past weekend in Thunder Bay.

Best: Big Sugar - Also in T-Bay, loudest motherfucker I've ever experienced. Can't remember the year though, early 2000s.

Top, top band. Not sure if their UK tour has finished or not but what I've heard of the new album is pretty damn good.

Not including 'small' or local gigs:

First - Reading Festival 2000.
Last - Unsane and Big Business @ Camden Underworld.
Best - Godflesh, Goatsnake and DRI @ Kentish Town Forum last year. All three bands were great but Godflesh...fuck me, about a million times better live than on record.

thats a sweet bill, saw Godflesh doing Streetcleaner at roadburn fest last year, tbh i was too monged at that stage to remember much but it being cool. Missed seeing Goatsnake at the same fest a year earlier due to that fucking volcano bullshit and cancelled flights

Yeah was a pretty peculiar lineup but was awesome nonetheless. Was great to hear that Greg Anderson tone in full force. A couple of my mates had to leave halfway through Godflesh because of the strobes and the sheer volume. The nerve! Still never been to Roadburn...one of these days.
