Any prog fans around here?
I know I can't be the only one, couple people have repped me for Dream Theater related profile stuff. So I know you're out there!

I'm a huge fan of prog death metal. Opeth rules the world.

Re: Any prog fans around here?
There is a Japanese based band called Ruins who are sort of like Magma except that they are a drum/base duo.Lots of insane noise and crazy vocals.
Tzomborgha is one of their albums to check out
Also Hawkwind and a lot of Frank Zappas work is prog based and as Hanoi Cheyenne said their is tons of great Krautrock stuff out there like Neu and Ash Ra Tempel.

Gonna have to check those out when I get a chance, cept for the King Crimson, cuz what prog fan doesn't love King Crimson? I (kinda) got to see them live last time Dream Theater came to town. Adrian Belew and Tony Levin doing "The Crimson Projeckt". And it was a damn good performance. If you're kinda into the easier listening like the old school prog bands, I'd recommend a band called Haken, if you haven't already listened to them, they are absolutely fantastic.

Re: Any prog fans around here?
Prog archives is an awesome site for finding new/old/obscure stuff
http://www.progarchives.com/
the sub-genres section make it easy to narrow down to stuff you like, im currently digging through the italian prog section, defo one of my favourite music sites on the net, if only metal-archives could make their site as user friendly.
