Re: WF GOAT Rapper Tournament Round 2
LL is one of the most under-appreciated greats in hip-hop, like Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap. Most don't realize he paved the way for solo artists as he was the first to prove that solo rappers can make full albums (Kurtis Blow was mostly a one-hit wonder with all due respect) and succeed. And it's not just that, the music he released from 1985-1995 was mostly classic stuff. I don't like most of his shit from the last decade but I understand why he has "sold out" and gone soft now that he's living the dream life.
And that "Rampage" verse is just ILL. Don't know why he constantly stayed behind the curtain, though. And correct me if I'm wrong, but that was the first time somebody picked him for a guest verse, right?

That's not LL in the video. He couldn't make the video shoot, so they had somebody dress up like LL and stay behind the curtain, to work around it.
I used to have an extended version of Rampage, with longer LL and Parrish verses, and background talking in between verses. Stuff that they cut out for the actual song. It was leaked onto the internet and I remember downloading it, don't know where it is though.
And yeah, I can't think of any guest verses from him prior to that, they weren't as common back then.

You bought one of the ones they re-released?
Shit, personally I'd keep that in the wrapper and try to sell it at a steep price increase to one of those crazy Wu-Tang diehards that didn't get one before they sold out.
That's dope though, great album and definitely a unique item to have.

$10 at Best Buy last week/ Has the old school black side panel piece rather the the clear ones they put out today. Same with the Liquid Swords copy I have.
Good suggestion though. I'll probably do that.

Re: WF GOAT Rapper Tournament Round 2
(1) 2Pac vs. (17) DMX(8) Jay-Z vs. (9) Method Man
(4) Notorious B.I.G. vs. (13) Andre 3000
(5) Rakim vs. (12) Scarface
(2) Nas vs. (15) Ghostface Killah
(10) Mos Def vs. (26) Talib Kweli
(3) Eminem vs. (14) Raekwon
(6) Ice Cube vs. (11) KRS-One
Rakin v Face was a hard one for me its pretty much a toss up. Why couldnt Rakim v Tupac happen and make it a lot easier on me. And yes the purple tape is better than a lot of Em's material but lyrically i like Em a little better, not much.

Wait, it's one of the original ones? Not the limited edition re-release they just did?
I didn't know any Best Buy's still sold tapes. Last time I remember seeing any cassette's for sale in a store was an FYE getting rid of all their tapes for like 2.99 back in like 2006 or so.

It's not a cassette. I'm a little confused. I know they just had a re-release with the box set I wanted to get, but as far as the CD I don't know.
I mean old school by the black ridged side piece that's now pretty much always clear. I'm not sure if this has any significance.
