I mean Kendrick is the Lyricist, & Good Kid of the group,Ab-Soul, the Philosopher, but what are Jay & Q, They can't both be the gangsters.
Jay Rock is like the goon of the group. To me Schoolboy comes across as the chill, laid back guy that's down with whatever. He's pretty versatile as far as subject matter goes and his beats have a "chill" vibe to them if you know what I mean.
I do agree Jay Rock is the weakest. In terms of lyricism and flow. That's not to say he's bad or anything considering the group overall is extremely talented.
I like this idea that they will never put out an album, only appear on each others albums as one unit as Ab-Soul said. Shits different. Q is definitely next on deck to make a bigger impact though. He's already got huge buzz building around him. Touring with Rocky right now so I'm hoping for some more songs from the two.
Gambino dropped a pretty dope mixtape over the summer named Royalty but nah no album for him so far this year. Speaking of that, my top 5 mixtapes:
4Eva N A Day
Royalty
Macadelic
Rich Forever
Lord$ Never Worry
I really had trouble thinking of the 5th one. I know there was probably a great mixtape I forgot.
V6 by Banks is great

They said they won't make an album, until all 4 are big solo.
I hope that Black Hippy-Slaughterhouse collab comes to fruition. Those two together could be a threat to Wu Tang.

I don't get the whole hype around Jay-Z being the greatest of all time....
He is good, I love Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint but Tupac, Eminem and even Biggie who had a slim discography is better than Jay Z.
Nope
Blueprint
Reasonable Doubt
Black Album
all classics
American Gangster
Vol 1
Great Albums
Dynasty: Roc La Familia
Vol 3
Good albums
Vol 2
Kingdom Come
Blueprint 3
Blueprint 2
All Below Average/god awful albums
He has a better discography than everyone you named except probably Pac

Wu will NEVER, EVERRRRRR be touched by anybody. Ever. Wasn't it like nearly half of the group that got nominated into the GOAT tournament? Wu's on their own level. I'd probably take Inspectah Deck over everyone from both groups with the only exception being Kendrick.

I think it's because of his relevancy for the last decade and half. It's fucking hard to stay relevant in the rap game and to do so and evolve for 15 years and still produce constant hits and create buzz is monumental. Think about how much has changed in rap from '96 to '12 and realize Jay has successfully changed with it.
