.....You are pointing out the obvious, of course I know that they are persona's..

Drake rose up through a kids show and was on a Bieber video. Lol, he is a fake. It's not about having an "OG" image. It's just about being real, not taking shortcuts to get to where you are etc.

The guy is a manufactured pop artist who tries to fit in to a certain spot but just comes out looking phony and lame.

Drake made 3 mixtapes before his first album, manufactured? Lol, you act like he came out of no where or something. In fact, his first 2 mixtapes have no Young Money feature on them.

And who cares if he did a song with Bieber? Ludacris and Busta did too, uh oh. Get those losers out of here

I'm not even going on about Drake right now, you still haven't answered my question as to which Hopsin albums/mixtapes are better than
Live From the Underground
Section 80
Good Kid, Mad City
Tha Carter 2
Dedication 2
4EVA N A Day
Friday Night Lights
The Warm Up

Fuck, he doesn't even have a better project than So Far Gone!

Actually, Luda has been in a song with Bieber...twice! What a lame, no idea how people could like him. All cred lost for him

Once again, Drake was underground for three years before he blew up when Jas Prince introduced him to Lil Wayne and Wayne signed him. Have you ever heard of Room for Improvement or Comeback Season?

So what if he was on a Bieber video? There are plenty of rappers who've been in Justin Bieber videos or done songs with him. Even Raekwon has a song with Justin Bieber, get over it.

Manufactured? The same way he rapped on So Far Gone when he was unsigned is the same style of rap he applies nowadays. Quit being a blind hater.

I don't even like Drake, but he was definitely coming up for a few years before he blew up. I remember he had a heavy buzz in like 2008. I don't like his music, but he made it on his own.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Mini rant on rappers dying too early:

I don't get why some people automatically assume B.I.G, L, Pac, whoever would have stayed the same and never changed their style and never would have fell off. I'll give you a perfect example:
50 Cent dies after the Massacre or right before it gets released

Can you imagine how much hype he would get? GRODT would automatically be bumped up to Illmatic tier, The Massacre turns into a classic, people wonder "imagine if he didn't die". No one could have predicted how hard 50 fell off after The Massacre, who's to say B.I.G doesn't after LAD? This is all hypothetical of course, but I hate going on sites like youtube and people saying "If Tupac and Biggie were still alive Lil Wayne would be working at McDonalds" or some dumb shit like that. They'd probably be collabing with him!

This is in no disrespect to dead rappers, but music evolves. It's 2012, no way Pac is rapping the same way he was in 1997 and the same with Biggie. As bad as that Duets album was, that "Nasty Girl" beat sounds exactly like something what B.I.G would rap on

Hahahaha, wow. Drake would have had connections in the industry by appearing on Degrassi...how can you not see that? And look at where I'm coming from, and offering alternatives to this "debate" I use that term quite loosely in this context.

Hopsin is an up and coming INDEPENDENT music artist, he doesn't have the financial backing that a Kendrick Lamar would have with a Dr. Dre running everything.

Ludacris has always been a sell out. Busta Rhymes sold out a while ago, everyone knows that. He does songs with that woman beater now.

Yeah, the economy must have hit Raekwon really hard, that is all I have to say.

Again, Drake would have had high powered connections through appearing on Degrassi. You actually really think a cashed up record company would not sign a guy like Drake? of course they would, he is from Degrassi fame, became friends with Lil Wayne and he just a fake.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

That's your excuse? But...Hopsin is already more skilled than all of them right?! He should be much better!

By the way, Section 80 by Kendrick is an indie album as well

Have you listened to any of those albums/tapes I brought up? You should, you're coming across as someone who only started listening to Weezy post 2008 or something

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Oh please.

The TV show had nothing to do with it, Drake was an irrelevant underground rapper for three years up until he met Lil Wayne. How many people do you know that talked about Drake as a rapper in 2006 or 07? Oh that's right, nobody was but he was making music at that time. You are really delusional and really don't know what you're talking about if you think Drake had "high-powered" connections before he met Lil Wayne. The guy was an unknown in the rap industry. You're just a blind hater.

Goddamn man, I've never defended Drake as much as I have in the past two days but your hate of him is just irrational and stupid.

You do know that Hopsins first album was pushed bad by like 3 years by Ruthless, right?

Kendrick wasn't locked in to a contract with a horrible company like Ruthless Records, he obviously had it much easier.

Lil Wayne irritates me, so no..I have no interest. I've heard some earlier stuff, where he was good at freestyling but hey Minaj use to be a some what alright freestyler but she sold out, just like he did. YMCMB/Auto tune is the Disco of the 2010's.

http://www.sohh.com/2012/10/turk_say...tacked_in.html

"I'm always open to that. That's an option," Turk said referring to possibly signing back to Cash Money. "I've talked to Baby on several occasions, while I was incarcerated. I've talked to Lil Wayne. Wayne sent me money. I talked to B.G., but unfortunately he was locked up when I came out. I spoke to Juve, Mannie Fresh, everybody. It's all love. We're gonna sit down, chop it up as men and see what the future got for us. But right now, it's about that YNT Empire--Young N Thuggin. I'm pushing on my own right now because a man gotta stand on his own, but I'm looking forward to working with the whole industry. It's all love." (XXL Mag)

good shit
