It's a shame when real talent like The D.O.C. lose their voice but you got garbage like Kanye yelling with their awful voices shitty lyrics into a microphone. Kanye makes dope music, he's a good rapper, you're putting him in the same class as Dr. Dre and I think that is complete bullshit.

The College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation & My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy all four great albums, to say Kanye isn't a good rapper is just you being biased, because it seems as if you have a vendetta towards Kanye. Any chance you get you bash him.

And IIRC, aren't you a fan of the 2 Live Crew & Onyx? But yet you bash Kanye and say he's a terrible rapper

While Kanye clearly does get lazy at times in terms of writing verses, the guy is a musical genius. We're not just talking production here either. He's got loads of songs where I was like damn this dudes got wordplay. Plus hes hilarious. Most artists today would never have the balls to do or say some of the stuff that's come out of his mouth.

In terms of lyrical content, Kanye is way above Dr. Dre. It's not even close.

What do you have against Kweli anyway? Sure he can get preachy at times but he's a great rapper with great lyrics.
Nothing. I like Kweli. Was just using him as an example of someone who "those types" would always prop up as the greatest rapper in the history of the world.

I like Kweli, Train of Thought is a classic album. Quality and Eardrum(bought that on day 1, even) are solid, and that free mixtape he put out with Madlib was really good too.

Not sure why you think I have a problem with him. He used to have a segment of annoying fans, no question. My problem was with them, not him. His problem as a rapper has never been lyrics or content.....it's his "trying to jam too many words/syllables into each line, which often just sounds awkward. There's a certain lack of rhythm to his flow and delivery.

You mentioned that you wouldn't have him in your top 30 which I found surprising. However, you raised a good point about his flow and delivery.

Don't see where Drake is claiming to be a thug in that hook.

Yeah, I don't think he's top 30. Not for me anyway. That's not an insult, I mean there's been a lot of rappers over the years. Even if I leave out newer rappers(who are better), but I leave them out since it's early in their career, I think I can come up with a quick 30+ who I think are better....

Nas, Rakim, KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Kool G Rap, Kool Moe Dee, Scarface, Ice Cube, 2Pac, Biggie, Redman, Treach, Jay-Z, Black Thought, Common, Pharoahe Monch, AZ, Snoop, Kurupt, Dre 3000, Ghostface, Method Man, Raekwon, GZA, Q-Tip, Posdnous, Big Pun, CL Smooth, Bun B, Lauryn Hill, MC Lyte, Jadakiss .....

I'd give him top 50, most likely.

Hmm, I really enjoy Drake's music. I take it for what it's worth, he may be a punchline rapper but hey it works. I think he can really spit, he has some talent but his problem is he only seems to give his best lyrical effort when he's featured on a track with an artist that's better than him or if he's featuring an artist that's better than him. For example, he kills Poetic Justice and easily saves the song from being shit because Kendrick's verse was average at best.

As for Kanye, I think he's a musical genius. He's one of my favorite rappers of this generation, obviously his new shit fits in with the mainstream audience more than it would lyrical rap stans but I think it's all just designed to get G.O.O.D music (2 chainz and Big Sean specifically) over. I've enjoyed every Kanye album barring 808's and heartbreak, his work is a breath of fresh air and really has some neat, clever lyrics.

He's BELOW Dr. Dre if I'm being honest. You don't have to be a good rapper to make good music. Kanye has surely made good albums but as a rapper, he fucking sucks. Thankfully, he's never low on guest artists most of the time so they drown out his awfulness, mostly in MBDTF. I can't stand listening to Kanye open his mouth for one minute but I can definitely listen to Dre rap some laughably bad lyrics that he didn't even write without even thinking about it. So that makes it Dre > Kanye to me. And Dre has an awesome voice.

As for 2 Live Crew & Onyx... Sticky Fingaz is a good rapper and as groups, the two have made good music without breaking any new grounds as rappers, similar to Kanye. Except I'm not full of it and claim them to be Rakim's equal lyrically or put them in top 30 rappers lists.

But hey, I'm not really gonna try with a Drake fan that calls Eazy-E terrible and says Kanye should be in a top 32 list. :yodawg

So you admit Kanye has good albums and that he's better than Dre and you know Dre sucks but you still would rather listen to a Dre album. That's not biased at all

I never said Kanye was better than Rakim and yes I would put Kanye in my top 32.

But hey I'm not gonna try it with a guy that thinks the 2 Live Crew, Sticky Fingaz and Eazy-E are good rappers but thinks Kanye is one of the worst ever

I bet if Kanye was popular in the 90's you would be a fan of him.

I never said Kanye is better than Dre. NEVER. I said Kanye is BELOW Dre. Lastly, I don't give a fuck what era somebody is from. Royce da 5'9 is fairly modern and came out around the same time as Kanye and I'm a fan.

And you would put Kanye in a top 32... lmao. I could think of 32 better rappers right now that have every right to be above him. And I mean legitimately, so no Dr. Dre's and shit. (also I never said "Dre sucks", if he can make good music despite terrible lyrics, he far from "sucks" and Kanye as a RAPPER sucks but he's great as a producer!)

Also you have obviously not listened to anything from Sticky Fingaz beyond Onyx and the yelling. He proved he can do it on his own in that Autobiography album.
