I can't allow myself to like Drake. He can spit a good verse here and there and I'm starting to like him. Just have a feeling he's gonna put out something stupid that's gonna make me dislike him again like every other time.

Drake is one of the most unlikable hacks I've listened to. He's just terrible and his first album legit put me to sleep. After making the mistake of torturing myself with that crap I've decided to never again put up with his soft garbage.

You're calling the dude that was practically born in jail to a black panther mom and lived the majority of his life in poverty a wannabe while not making such a statement for a guy like Biggie. Who came from a middle class family and went to private school as a kid.

What makes him different to any of those other rappers? Exactly what subject matter in his songs was different from the 20 Biggie songs about sellings drugs and being kingpin Frank White or the same subject from Raekwon?

So much ignorance.
I said came off as one. Learn to read.

Yes I would put Kanye in that list, somewhere between 25 and 32.

And I don't understand why you're comparing Kanye & Eazy when Kanye is better at pretty much every aspect.

To join this discussion.....I wouldn't put Kanye in my list of top 32 rappers or anywhere all that close really, if we're talking strictly rapping ability.

I would easily put him in my top 32 rap artists.

There are a lot of rappers who are/were technically better rappers than Kanye......but Kanye makes better rap music than most of them. So I guess it depends on what we're specifically talking about with these lists.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

I know it was a couple posts back but whoever posted "Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta"

Although I still prefer Mind Playing Tricks on Me by far. One of my favorite songs ever.

This post made my think about just what exactly are my favorite songs ever, with curiosity getting the best of me, now I'm off to iTunes to try to develop a top 25 list

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Alright I managed to come up with a top 25 favorite songs of all-time list and I'm sure this isn't concrete, if I re-did this list tomorrow I'd probably swap 10 songs currently on for 10 others, idk. The order is a clusterfuck.

1. Nas - The World Is Yours
2. Geto Boys - Mind Playing Tricks on Me
3. 2Pac - Better Dayz
4. Ice Cube - It Was a Good Day
5. Jay-Z - Heart of the City (Ain't No Love)
6. 2Pac feat. Digital Underground - I Get Around
7. UGK - Murder
8. Z-Ro - Look What You Did to Me
9. UGK - Diamonds & Wood
10. Notorious B.I.G. feat. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - Notorious Thugz
11. 2Pac - Hail Mary
12. Scarface feat. Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel - Guess Who's Back
13. Guerilla Maab - Keep Watchin' Me
14. Warren G feat. Nate Dogg - Regulate
15. Wu Tang Clan - C.R.E.A.M.
16. Nas - Memory Lane
17. 2Pac - Me Against the World
18. Outkast - Elevators (Me & You)
19. 2Pac - White Man'z World
20. UGK feat. Outkast - International Players Anthem
21. Nas - One Mic
22. Scarface feat. 2Pac - Smile
23. Bun B feat. Pimp C, Jay-Z, Z-Ro & Young Jeezy - Get Throwed
24. Public Enemy - By the Time I Get to Arizona
25. Freeway feat. Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel - What We Do

Honorable Mention: U Don't Know by Jay-Z, Verbal Intercouse by Raekwon & Nas, Flashing Lights by Kanye West, Let Me Ride by Dr. Dre, Poppa Was a Playa by Nas, Mass Appeal by Gang Starr, Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta by Geto Boys

The list could go on...I tried. Somewhat.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Drake's problem is that he has like 3 different personalities, He has emo Drake that has all these depressing and dark songs, YMCMB Drake that talks about money, cars, clothes, and girls, and gangsta Drake that think he's from the streets.
