Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Lil' Wayne is apparently looking to retire with the Carter V album. Take it for what's it worth.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Yeah he's been saying that for years. Guy will go down as a legend for being one of the best punchline rappers during his prime years and influencing a lot of today's mainstream artists: Drake, Wiz, Kendrick, Wale, etc.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Kendrick Lamar has a whole mixtape based of the Carter 3. On top of that, Kendrick has already admitted in interviews to being influenced by Weezy.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Funny how Wayne influences Kendrick but Kendrick now is better than Wayne ever was. And he's not even in his prime yet.

Wayne is the most overrated rapper of all-time and it isn't even close.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Snoop takes that quite easily

The most overrated "classic" of all time (It is a classic though), followed by a bunch of bad-meh-two good albums. Also the biggest sellout in hip hop history.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Snoop was never being hyped as the best rapper alive and I've never met someone who said Snoop was a top 10 rapper all-time

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Snoop came back with Blue Carpet Treatment so he's ok in my book..

I'd have to ask someone who has heard all of LL's work if he's overrated. Dude still dropping albums yet, I havent heard anyone say anything good about a song of his since 98 or something
