Let Me Ride, Still D.R.E, Forgot About Dre, The Next Episode, Nuthin' but a G Thang, Keep Their Heads Ringin...ummm...yeah that's it. And I only like Keep Their Heads Ringin for the beat and chorus, Nuthin' but a G Thang because of Snoop's verses, Next Episode because of Nate and the beat and Forgot About Dre because of Em and the beat.
So yeah, definitely not a Dre fan as far his rapping goes, his production on the other hand is another story. But I like the headphones though.
I don't agree on either point. He's steadily built a fanbase without Lady Gaga. He doesn't need her. And it won't matter anyway. Wale had a Lady Gaga feature on his first album.....it didn't do shit for him. And the song was wack.
The Gaga feature only helps if the song is dope.
And I think it will sell well. He's built a pretty good buzz. If KRIT and Curren$y both debuted top 10, Kendrick will too. And if Kendrick makes a hit, which he's capable of, his album will have more legs than theirs did.
The Lady Gaga feature made Wale known, I swear people overhype rappers so much to the point they think they're invincible, Saying a Lady Gaga feature, the biggest pop star today won't help your fanbase is asinine.

He also has a bigger fanbase than Mac had at the time.
Nope, Mac had a way bigger fanbase than Kendrick, People were wearing Most Dope clothing, singing Donald Trump. Mac was popular with white kids and his fame spread to blacks.
Right now Kendrick's fanbase is small, Before Swimming Pools, came out I doubt you could go up to someone and tell them to name a Kendrick Lamar song.

The Gaga feature did not make Wale known. Gaga fans didn't give a shit, I doubt they'll like Kendrick either but who knows. A decent amount of rap fans already knew who Wale was. The rest found out when he got with Ross. The Gaga feature was a bust for him.
Again, Kendrick's buzz and fanbase have been growing. He'll be fine if the music is good.
Are y'all talking about Dr. Dre songs you like? Or Dr. Dre songs where you like his rapping?
Because he's got good songs that are on his albums where he doesn't even rap like XXXPlosive or Stranded on Death Row. Other dope songs like What's the Difference(until Em gets corny at the end), Some LA Niggaz, Deeeeez Nuts, etc. He's not exactly spitting heat, but the songs are dope.
I always used to think he sounded good on the mic for the most part. Now he doesn't, he just sounds like he's doing karoake for whoever wrote the verse he's rapping.
The Gaga feature didn't really make Wale known. And IIRC the song came out before Gaga really became a pop superstar. Wale didn't become a popular piece of mainstream rap until he signed with MMG. He was known but wasn't relevant as far as mainstream rap goes, if that makes sense.
When Wale really became hot and started getting more mainstream attention is when he was featured on No Hands with Waka Flocka and dropped those two "love" songs after he signed with MMG, That Way & Lotus Flower Bomb. That's when Wale really became big.
@LBGetBack: I was referring to Dre songs that I like. Never have been a big Dre fan, I have the Chronic and 2001 albums, but I don't listen to them that often.

i'd add "Fuck wit' Dre Day" to that list , because of the dope ass instrumental and the Tim Dogg diss
i'm not a big fan of Snoop but he murked most of the tracks on The Chronic

So y'all only like Dre's singles? I can see that because he hit with basically all of his singles.....but there's album cuts on both albums that I like just as much as his singles. I like Been There, Done That too.
I fucked with everybody on Deathrow except him. Just never liked his music. No particular reason.
who Dre or Snoop ?

There are good mainstream rappers just like there's terrible ones. It's been the same since rap was created.
There was never a time period when mainstream rap was perfect. Even in the 90's, when you had Nas, 2Pac, Biggie, Wu-Tang, etc. there was still the Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, Kris Kross, Sir Mix-A-Lot, 2 Live Crew, etc.
What was bad about MC Hammer? He was not a great rapper at all but his performances were crazy. Plus he was one of the first rappers to have a Diamond album. That has to be worth something.
