I've been saying if Dre gets behind Jay Rock, he could be this generation's Game/Scarface.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Jay Rock is closer to Game than Scarface.

Jay Rock's problem is that he goes hard on featured verses, but is inconsistent on his own tracks. It's kind of ironic that Jay Rock's verse on "Money Trees" could have a legit case as the best verse on Kendrick's album, and Kendrick's verse on "Hood Gone Love It" was probably the best verse on Jay Rock's album.

Rock is a step above Game. His storytelling abilitys, and technical skills are a notch higher.

Yeah I also think Jay Rock is better than Game. But he doesn't come close to Scarface.

The Documentary had first class production behind it.

Most his stuff does, don't remember listening to a Game track and saying that beat sucked very often. Even his new stuff while no Documentary still has good beats his spitting over. Him, Krit and Curren$y I'd say have the best ear for beats these days. Kendrick is always over good production to.

I'm so glad kid cudi left good music, he can leave rap well alone now, he has no passion for it, and it shows!
