What the radio plays shouldn't dictate what the listeners like. What the listeners like should dictate what the radio plays. People need to get a mind of their own and stop being so ignorant and ignorant shit wouldn't sell.

Fact of the matter is, millions of people still listen to the radio and it is still a significant contributor to an artist's, especially a mainstream's artist's popularity. The radio shoves shit down people's throat. And these labels pay the radios to please their artists music more often. And if the people who listen to the radio a lot, if they're constantly hearing a certain brand of music, well what do you think they'll move towards?

They're not gonna be interested in guys who aren't on the radio, if they don't hear them, now will they? Of course we, when I say we, I'm talking about the people who post in this thread and other internet hip-hop fans couldn't care less about the radio but unfortunately we're not the majority.

Radio shoves nothing down people's throat. People choose to listen to it. Asked someone why do people like Lil Wayne, and they said because Lil Wayne is stupid, therefore stupid people like him. Not saying everyone who likes him is stupid, but a lot of stupid people happen to like him.

How does the radio not shove shit down people's throats. I'm talking about the people who listen to the radio.

It's not like they can choose which songs they want to listen to. If every other song played on the radio features a YMCMB artist, that's not shoving shit down people's throat? The radio playing the same song 10+ times in a day, isn't shoving shit down people's throat?

Come on man, don't be blind.

There has to be a conspiracy if this clown is the biggest mainstream rapper:

Here's an idea: People could just turn off the radio and go look for good music.

And people do that. Look at the people who post in this thread, I'm sure most of us started off listening to the radio and then branched out and stopped listening to the radio and found our own tastes.

But we're not the majority.

They aren't being physically forced to do anything, but if someone hears certain songs over and over and over they're being conditioned to like those songs/artists. It's the same things as something "growing on you". Like for instance, I didn't like Suit & Tie or Started From The Bottom when they first came out, but the more I listened to them the more I came around and eventually I had them both in heavy rotation for a short time. Imagine that, times like 20x and the process being repeated every month or so.

I get what's being said. I'm just not sure if there's an actual conspiracy with this shit in mind. I just think people are becoming more moronic to begin with.

Except some things may never grow on you. Still think it's a choice to put on the radio and let something grow on you. You didn't like it the first time. Go out and find new music.
