Agree, the beat was cool. I'm strictly talking about the rapping." I'm no God but I don't think I'm human because I'm so odd" What? C'mon.

"fall asleep watchin' Dawson's Creek and it seems I'm under water in my dreams"...I'd seriously consider punching him if we were in the same room when he said that. That's just so wack.

"shut your pie hole / i'm dope and i know / my voice sound like a sample off of vinyl" um, no it doesn't. It sounds softer than fresh shit.

"wonder if christ made a million from selling the cross" Terrible. You're not deep. Shutup and stop smoking that shit if these are the dumb thoughts you have when you're baked.d

"when I'm drunk i cut your head off and leave it danglin'" huh?

"i rather write my own history book / where the world don't car about how you physically look" Oh, woe is the white rapper. You've got it so hard. If the world didnt care about how you physically look, Mac would be a complete nobody.

He sucks.

K.I.D.S. and Macadelic are the only projects I've enjoyed from Mac. And that's like 2 out of 7 projects.

He has great production most of the time though.

Honestly that line would be at home on a lot of Wayne or Nikki's music, that's their style of punchlines. LOL at that goofy ass song making LB quit hip hop.

Mac Miller isn't good, he's not outstandingly wack either. At least, technically. There's something about him and his delivery I really don't like though.

As for Scarface, what he's really saying to me is that record companies promote the most simplistic, foolish looking black rappers partially because it sells and partially because it will make a lyrical white rapper talking about social issues seem more credible by comparison. Like Macklemore. This leads to people who don't really listen to rap to think white people have mastered the artform and do the music better than black people. This definitely happened with Macklemore, I've met people who believe he basically is keeping hip hop alive.

I don't know if that's plausible as a plan by the companies though, probably just a result. That's giving them a lot of credit for forward thinking.

KRIT and Kendrick are keeping me going, as far as newer rappers I fuck with. I can easily see it coming where I don't fuck with any new rap in the coming years if it keeps going in this direction.

And I agree with your Scarface point. I can't stand people who don't like rap, "except for Eminem! He's the best!" while knowing NOTHING about the genre. Now Macklemore is their new one.

Haven't finished it, but I just found this today and damn. Raw.
Demo is good but Nas sounds undeveloped. Sounds too much like a Rakim/Kool G ripoff.

Music of every genre, style, subject matter, sound, etc. is more easily accessible than ever before. You can't demonize the record companies when it's ultimately the listener's choice as to what they want to listen to. SO many artists today are getting buzz off the internet now that the record companies are going to be forced to change their model up within the next decade if they want viable rappers to sign with them because as it looks right now the independent scene is blowing up and looking more and more like the better option for rappers to take nowadays. I really shouldn't have to name the list of guys who have achieved success thanks to the internet.

He needs to stop trying to make this a race thing again. It's not the early 90s anymore. Your race isn't being oppressed anymore.
Exactly. Blacks are still struggling, but it's not like the oppression is direct as it used to be. Still some police brutality in some states, but its not like people are just outright being sprayed with water hoses and beaten in the middle of the street.

Think Face doesn't know that studies say, whites are the biggest rap consumers.
