Monumental lies.

Nas is still alive.

In terms of achievement, no one alive touches Jay. The dude has the craziest rags to riches story ever.

Only he rivals Tupac in work ethic. He released a solid album every year from 96-2003.

The Source Awards left a void in yearly displays of ignorance so the stage was pretty much set for this useless, incredibly entertaining show.

I'll take Pac's work ethic over anyone's. The man released more albums dead than he did alive. THAT'S work ethic.

And I don't care much for achievements. Nas is the greatest all around rapper to ever grace the mic and it's not even a debate to me. LIG is easily album of the year and clearly his second best album.

No disagreements on 2pac. Can't even question the drive that guy had.

The second statement on the otherhand, is a bit out there. Illmatic, Stillmatic and Streets Disciple are all better albums that LIG.

Bottom 3 Nas album imo.

Although you're right saying that LIG isn't top 2. Illmatic, IWW, Stillmatic, Lost Tapes are all better. God's Son is a toss up. And Jay had a few missteps as well

Vol 2 was geared toward the mainstream and doesn't stand the test of time (besides Hard Knock Life)
Vol 3 I never liked when I first heard it and still don't
BP2 was too long and it's the classic Double album curse
Kingdom Come sucked besides Beach Chair
BP3 sucked

Vol 1, Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint 1, Black Album are all classics to me though. American Gangster is a personal classic.

I personally enjoyed both parts of SD and am not a fan of American Gangster. I also liked BP3. All a matter of taste really.

Lots of Jays albums were hits and misses though. I leaned towards DMX when he released Vol 2 and wasn't all that into Jay again until The Blueprint.

This. BET Hip-Hop awards are only still watched because of the Cypher. No one really cares for the nominations and awards, let alone who was nominated. Oh and the BET Cyphers are pre written

Watch the video and you'll see people rapping verses before they're said

Lyrically, Em is right up there in the all time greats. Again, not GOAT, but up there. If you ask any of those four men who they really thought was the GOAT in a locked room with no cameras, tape recorders, etc. none of them would pick Em because it's so blatantly obvious he's not a GOAT. So many dudes ahead of him. Nas, Kane, KRS, Rakim, Biggie, even though I fucking hate him, even Jay, etc. Just thought I'd nit pick that portion because I'm that guy.

Oh and Hopsin's dope. He can put together a few sick bars and he's got a nice sound. I don't think he comes off as a poor man's TTC at all and as for their fanbases, I generally agree with the stereotypes. I will say though, I don't really think either are intentionally using gimmicks to get publicity. I legit think TTC is batshit crazy though he probably does do certain shit for publicity. Music never really appealed to me though. His personality is a different story.

Overall I'd say the future of rap is in good hands after the current mainstream shit is gone i.e. YMCMB, MMG. Krit, ASAP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar...fuck Black Hippy in general is crazy, J Cole, Pac Div, Hopsin, Childish Gambino. The game is getting younger and younger.
I don't see the hate on MMG, Wale & Stalley are both talented artists. Meek Mill has potential, but if he keeps rapping about the things he is right now, he's going to get played out soon.

Don't have a problem with people saying Jay is GOAT. And Eminem also.

Same, you watch the BET Cyphers and it makes you think "Why are these guys not on TV?"
