Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Oh no doubt that Kanye is a better producer than rapper. He has so many hot beats from his early days, if you want to name some that aren't his

- Let the Beat Build
- Dreams
- Heart of the City
- This Can't Be Life
- Guess Who's Back
- Heaven (DAT BEAT CHANGE )
- Nothing Like It
- You Don't Know My Name
- Poppa Was a Playa
- Overnight Celebrity

I could go on and on and on...

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

The only skips on LAD are:
Another
Playa Hater
Maybe Nasty Boy

3 bad tracks out of 24 (22 taking off the intro and the interlude) ? I consider that a classic. AEOM is the same, maybe 3 skips out of 27 tracks, but the best tracks on there aren't close to the best tracks on LAD. If I made a top 5 from both albums, I'd have maybe 1 track in it (Ambitionz As A Ridah) and Trading War Stories just missing the cut, the rest would be all LAD.

And Guess Who's back is probably my favorite Kanye beat, legendary.

A lack of skips doesn't make them classic caliber tracks though.

Somebody's Gotta Die
Hypnotize
Kick in the Door
Last Day
I Love the Dough
What's Beef
.....s Bleed
I Got a Story to Tell
Notorious Thugs
Going Back to Cali
Ten Crack Commandments
Sky's the Limit
The World is Filled
Long Kiss Goodnight
You're Nobody Til Somebody Kills You

That's a certified classic album right there. Trim the fat.

So? Not everything has to have a message. Better beats, better songs, and Snoop's flow and delivery back then were incredible.

I didn't say IWW had no influence or classic songs. It's just not in Paid in Fulls league in that regard.

Hell, I liked Follow the Leader more than Paid in Full. Talk about blasphemy.

Why do y'all bring up "party album" like its automatically a bad thing?

Me Against The World, musically is not even close to Doggystyle.

The content is so incredibly different though. So I can see someone riding with it for that reason. I love that album. But Doggystyle sounds better.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

It's funny because people in this thread told me that the song "Problems" by A$AP Rocky didn't suck because it was a party song, but now Doggystyle takes a hit because it has a lot of "party songs" on it.

-LOX on Last Day
-Jay-Z on I Love The Dough
-Ma$e on Mo Money Mo Problems
-Bone Thugs on Notorious Thugs
-112 on Skys The Limit

All are dope verses/performances, compared to AEOM:
-Dre On California Love
-Everyone On Got My Mind Made Up

and that's it
Nate on All About U, Snoop on 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted, K-Ci and JoJo on How Do U Want It were all dope too.

I always liked Rappin 4-Tay too.
