I think Hopsin is a breath of fresh air tbh. I'm so sick of 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, Birdman etc. It's just so fucking terrible and no, I'm not spamming or whatever it may be but Hip Hop in the Mainstream is terrible.

I see todays Hip Hop as I see hair bands in the 1980's...something is just waiting along to come and get rid of it, I pray for it everyday.

You realize they were just kissing ass right? Em's not even top 5 let alone GOAT. Some could argue not even top 10. Hell, he's probably not. He's only had two great albums and like, I think it was LB correct me if I'm wrong, said his beats were never that great. They fit his style, but they weren't great beats. Lyrically, Em is right up there in the all time greats. Again, not GOAT, but up there. If you ask any of those four men who they really thought was the GOAT in a locked room with no cameras, tape recorders, etc. none of them would pick Em because it's so blatantly obvious he's not a GOAT. So many dudes ahead of him. Nas, Kane, KRS, Rakim, Biggie, even though I fucking hate him, even Jay, etc. Just thought I'd nit pick that portion because I'm that guy.

Oh and Hopsin's dope. He can put together a few sick bars and he's got a nice sound. I don't think he comes off as a poor man's TTC at all and as for their fanbases, I generally agree with the stereotypes. I will say though, I don't really think either are intentionally using gimmicks to get publicity. I legit think TTC is batshit crazy though he probably does do certain shit for publicity. Music never really appealed to me though. His personality is a different story.

Overall I'd say the future of rap is in good hands after the current mainstream shit is gone i.e. YMCMB, MMG. Krit, ASAP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar...fuck Black Hippy in general is crazy, J Cole, Pac Div, Hopsin, Childish Gambino. The game is getting younger and younger.

Was Snoop speaking his mind in the late 90's? Cube had even stopped. You've taken one little point I've brought up and purely overreacted. It's clear as day that you have something against Eminem...come on man, we all know Eminem would destroy 2pac in a Rap Battle. 2pac was a great storyteller and poet, please don't try twist this around in to me being an Eminem fan boy, because it's nothing like that. Shiiiiiiit, I've had 2pac's albums on repeat for the last 5 to 6 months and I even go on Youtube to look for rare footage etc.

2pac did write those songs but Eminem also wrote songs like White America, Mosh, the Way I am. Sure, they are different but that is as close as you are going to get to any political type message in Mainstream Hip Hop unless Hopsin explodes on to the scene and gets rid of Lil Wayne and his cronies.

Rakim, Jay Z, Redman, Scarface etc. have all said Eminem is the greatest MC of all time. I mean, they're opinion must count for something, right? Yeah, whatever happened to Ja Rule? I remember that "Livin it Up" song was so massive back in the day and than he just faded away...so weird man.

He got owned by 50 Cent and his crew. 50 Cent is eh anyway, he only has like 3 or 4 good songs. Ja Rule came off as a bit of a douchebag.
Umm....after my initial disagreement, did you not say something like "I can't believe you guys don't see it"?

When did LL or Snoop ever "speak their mind"? They never changed much in terms of content. Nas was rapping about some shit. Face always did. DMX filled the Pac "void" in that aspect that you're referring to much more than Eminem did, anyway.

LOL at "The Way I Am"....the song where he whined about being popular? Yeah, that really took some balls.

I told you exactly what my "problems" with Eminem were, there's no mystery. I'm not making trying to make anyone guess here.

Ja Rule had a lot more popular songs than Livin It Up though. He had his run of popular songs, and then things shifted.

You have to give Em credit for at least rapping from his heart. If the pressure and hot spotlight of fame was really fucking with him then so be it. You rap what you know and what he knew was a fucked up childhood, drugs, and his view of the world around him.

Sooo....after this whole thing that happened between Ross, Jeezy and 50 people, I wonder again, why the hell is there a BET hip hop awards? It's a pointless show. The BET awards is enough.

The BET Hip Hop Awards have zero credibility. Then again any awards show that dubs Lil Wayne lyricist of the year would have zero credibility. It's so commercialized and mainstream that if you aren't on the radio you aren't winning. It's fucking worthless.

Pretty sure I've been complaining about this awards show for about 12 years now. Complete waste of space. The show is just a location for ignorance to prosper.

Um, what the......that was my point, Snoop and LL never spoke their minds to a level of a 2pac or Eminem.

Those guys were not kissing ass. You are just clearly mad that Eminem is one of the greatest, if not THE best. But hey, you guys can decide for what you want.

Lil Wayne is terrible, I fully agree 100000000000000% with that statement. Why is he even popular? Seriously? I mean yeah, you guys may not like Eminem for whatever reason but you know, deep down, he has talents so why is Lil Wayne popular? I don't get it and I never will......

Stupid is what sells right now. That's why the artists that are big today are big.

And I don't know where you're getting I don't like Em from nor that I'm mad he's one of the greatests. I agree, but clearly not to the same extent you do. I think he's over hyped and overrated. He's still a beast and I'll take him over most of the game right now. There's a reasons no one fucks with him. But he's not a top 5 rapper. That's for damn sure.

.
There are other well known respected rappers who have called Lil Wayne and Jay-Z the greatest rappers alive. What would you call that?
