But he still came off, and Primo's production was a breathe of fresh air with all the soft ass Neptunes, Timbo, Scott Storch, Trackmasters beats all over the radio then. Not that any of them were bad producers, but I'd remember hearing all those blatant radio pandering songs, and then get hype as shit when "Skillz" or "Rite Where U Stand" would come on.

I remember a song with Redman for a soundtrack, but I don't remember giving it much run because I thought the beat was wack. Anyone know the name of it? And who had the better verse?
Yeah, but out of all of those you named, besides the first 3 and Pun it wouldn't make sense for him to work with any of them. And Jada isn't messing with Em during his prime, Jada isn't even messing with Styles. And Em during his prime drops a better verse than all of them except maybe Pun imo

BTW, that Phuk You beat sounded perfect for Em. Bis would have gotten bodied on that

Nah, that's not the song I was thinking of. Just searched it...."off the Wall" is the song. And yeah..... I still can't tolerate the beat to listen for longer than a minute.

Disagree strongly on Jada. Late 90s Jada? Shit.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Late 90s Jada isn't messing with late 90s P. I always thought that Styles was nicer in every way than Jada besides maybe punchlines. Beat selection, lyrics, disses, albums, etc. I mean, just look at the Roc-D Block/Beans/Jada beef. Jada loses the beef mainly because he picked some wack disco sounding beat to diss Beans, and Styles has one solo and destroys the Roc. And all of the disses he was on with Jada to 50 were hilarious and/or vicious (although Checkmate was dope, I'll give Jada that.)

I like P, but Jada was always better overall to me. Not just punch lines, but just better flow and cadence and delivery too.

And yeah, Jada didn't always pick the best beats or the best directions for songs.....P had him beat there. But in terms of not having to make those decisions and just hopping on a hot beat and murdering it, Jada was the better rapper IMO.

Jada basically fathered a whole generation of NY rappers. Jada was always that dude who when his verse came on, everyone got quiet to hear what he was going to spit.

But anyway, Jada and Styles are one of the best duos ever.....loved when they'd go back and forth with their bars like Run and DMC used to, rather than sticking to the current standard of my 16, then your 16 format.

Yeah, Jada and Styles are the best ever at the back and forth bars imo (M.O.P. are a sleeper for this tho). Even on wack beats like One More Step, or when they're both not in their prime like It's Ok, it's always flames.

Yup. Nas and AZ were great the few times they did it too. Damn shame they never did a duo album together. Their styles meshed perfectly, and they both kill it every time they work together so they both would've been on their A game the whole album.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

It's a shame that Nas & AZ haven't made any songs since 2005 (?) together either. AZ said that Nas would be on Doe or Die 2 but god knows when that's coming out.

Yeah that album was definitely slept on. Some of my favorite premo beats on there.

Two more of my favorite beats of all time.

I remember Invincible being on the NBA Jam soundtrack and we would just play it over and over and over again. Definitely my favorite Premo beat.
