"i'm famous and now fans bother me with too much attention!". LOL at Eminem "not taking shit from anyone"......he picked fights with girls and boy bands and puppet dogs.

And both had drug addicted mothers with obvious problems......Pac made a song about loving his mom no matter what, Eminem trashed his mom repeatedly and put all her issues out for the world to know. Nice. Real high character guy right there.

There is literally NOTHING alike between them.
So? Eminem is still a great artist...Eminem would rip 2pac to shreds when it would come to rapping..and yeah, this is coming from a massive 2pac fan. So what if he said all those things about his Mum...it's what an artist does, they express their feelings through songwriting or what not.

I see you are a fan of Ice Cube's Death Certificate album. Black Korea ring any bells?

Oh, and 2pac didn't flaunt out some dirty laundy as well? Come on now...he was cool and all but in the later days of his life, he went off the rails but still managed to make great music. They are both great artists.

Eminem along with Biggie, Nas and Rakim are the greatest free flowers.

2pac is the best storyteller in Hip Hop hands down.

I know but his entire verse is pretty much "I'm still _____ / I'm still ____ like ____". Just think about the line "I'm still no joke", WTF is that? LOL. I rarely hear this wackness on EPMD's stuff, specially the early ones. And yeah, I know about that Temptation sample, probably my least favorite song from Me Against the World along with Can U Get Away.

And on the Pac/Eminem comparisons, both have been controversial in numerous ways. And also great rappers at it. I think you have some sort of bias against Eminem. Pac also aired out dirty laundries all over the place in 96. Just take "Against All Odds" for an example. And it's not like Em is the only person to diss his own mom. DJ Quik went hard against both his mom and sister last year in his Book of David album.

And the best storytellers are Ice Cube, Kool G Rap and Scarface IMO.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Ice Cube was at his best, storytelling wise from Straight Outta Compton with NWA up until the War and Peace albums. Everything after that...eh, it's been okay. Hip Hop is in the slumps right now with the mainstream Hip Hop stuff anyway.

I miss those awesome times with Eminem, OutKast, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Beastie Boys etc. 1999 to 2005 was pretty good, but now it's all eh. I wasn't around for the Pac and Biggie era but it would've been great and exciting.

Based on what? Maybe only in freestyling because Tupac was never that good at it. Tupac never made a horrible album like Encore. Eminem has skills but what good is it if he's rapping about vomiting or about killing his wife?

Better than Nas? Or even Biggie? That's debatable.

That's a good point. Most of Eminem's beefs were with people who really couldn't fight back. He had beefs with people like Moby, Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon and Christina Aguilera.

Umm, the point was that Pac and Eminem were NOTHING alike. SO I don't know why you gave me the "So? Eminem was still great". Like, what? That wasn't even what we were talking about. But I'll be glad to participate.

First, the Black Korea thing.....yeah, Cube rapped about social ills. So did Pac. Eminem didn't. Point?

Pac flaunted dirty laundry about people.....not profiting off his own mom's(and wife and daughter's) problems/issues.

Greatest free flowers? WTF does that mean? Freestylers? Flowing/riding a beat. You're making up terms that don't make any sense, so I have no idea what you're talking about there.

2Pac was NOT the best storyteller, he didn't even tell that many stories.

And finally the biggest fallacy that needs to be addressed....."Eminem would rip Pac to shreds when it comes to rapping".....NOPE!

Problem is, you and some others get caught up in that punchline/wordplay shit that Pac didn't even participate in, and act like that's the only aspect of rapping that matters. Like "OMG he said hotter than a set of twin babies in a mercedes with the windows up, OMGGGGG!!!" That shit is ONE aspect of rapping.

Pac wrote Brenda's Got a Baby. Pac wrote Keep Ya Head Up. Pac wrote Krazy. Pac wrote Dear Mama. Pac wrote Life Goes On. Poetic, coherent SONGS that Eminem wouldn't/couldn't/didn't make. So before you get all caught up in the wordplay shit, realize there's many other aspects to rapping where Pac shined and Eminem didn't.

And for my money, Eminem was not a great artist. He didn't make great songs or great albums. He rapped over mostly bad beats, his content was trashy Jerry Springer show shit, his voice sucks. Was he talented? Sure. His wordplay was fanatastic, at one time. So if that's really important to you, I can see him being a favorite. He sucked at many of the things that I value, though.

Yup. Funny thing is though, that Mariah Carey clowned Eminem too. Like, he thought he was shitting on another defenseless target and actually took an L out of it, and then he just kept digging the hole deeper, getting madder and madder to the point where he was threatening her husband and shit like 5-6 years after whatever minor fling they may have had. LOL. She kept her cool, denied they were ever serious, and pointed out how sad his obsessed stalker behavior was.

Em was the pathetic kid who swung for the fences and missed with the hot girl, and then tried to lie about it and acted like they really were an item......and then he just kept saying it and saying it like all decade long. "No really, she was my girl! Really guys!"

Eminem hated being called out on his bullshit, in all honesty. His feud with Benzino gave me a chuckle, though.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Speaking of Eminem beefs, "Em killed Ja" or "50 killed Ja" is the biggest myth in hip hop history. No, Eminem, 50, D12, Busta, DMX, and Obie killed Ja Rule. And did Ja Rule have any help during that? I don't think so. And it's funny that now 50 is doing the exact same stuff that he dissed Ja for

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

50 is a hypocrite but he truly killed Ja's career along with his posse during that beef. Ja became irrelevant after being on top for several years and what's up with him nowadays? He was supposed to come out with an album but it got canceled or something. And 50 himself is also pretty irrelevant at this point, musically at least.
