Word. The moment he starts trend hopping and using weak ass drums like a lot of newer producers....then I'll say he should hang it up. Until then he's good with me.

Except he's been doing the same exact thing for his entire career. He's just putting himself in a box, stylistically.

Talent/charisma draws. Not size.

Premier is one of the best producers/DJs to ever do it though, he makes quality music. I don't see why he should change up his style if that's what he made his name off of.

There's absolutely no reason for Premier, especially at this point in his career to change his style. No reason whatsoever.

No he hasn't. There was a much different sound to damn near all of the Gangstarr albums. He hasn't switched anything up in awhile, but at this point, he shouldn't. What the hell else is there for him to do? What should he be trying to do?

He's got a lane now, and he's still pretty damn good at it,.....and it's a lane that there's still a niche audience for, and that nobody else is really filling all that well.

Not to mention, people consider Ready to Die, BIG's best album.

Whereas people can argue Kanye has progressed from the College Dropout.

Yeah, maybe I'm just jaded because I'm old and grumpy and I like what I like and all that shit, but I know I'd rather listen to Premier doing what he's been doing for the last 20 years and doing it WELL, than him switching up and trying something different when he doesn't really need to.

Personally, if there's a DJ Premier beat on an album I'm otherwise not all that interested in, there's a good chance I'm gonna end up listening to that track (or tracks) regardless.

Anyone peep that Joe Budden joint? Haven't had a chance yet myself. imo, during that span of time between Padded Room and Mood Muzik 4, Budden was one of the best rappers in the world, but after his last tape, I'm a little worried...
