Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Those guys were a trip lol.

Saying Nas was irrelevant

And IIRC one of them said Nas was irrelevant because his latest albums haven't sold more than 500k in the first week, despite the fact that no rapper sells that much except for Wayne & Drake.

Yeah, they really were. One of them was trying to "get me" on a technicality about Biggie's Life After Death sales, because that album made a premature appearance before it was supposed to come out and entered the charts at like #176. Then it went #1 the next week in it's real, intended debut when it was actually out in stores where more than a few people could buy it.

This guy tried to spin it like Biggie wasn't nearly as popularas whatever rapper he was arguing for(maybe Pac) because he "only entered the charts at 176". LOL, the album went diamond.

I used go real hard on here because their were so many stupid posters. Most of them have disappeared though.

I remember that joint from Space Jam soundtrack! That's another I haven't seen in years. However, I have seen and heard this track plenty of times:

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Nas is irrelevant in the sense that you rarely hear from him. He's a mainstream artist in an underground artist's body and mind.

But Kreayshawn is irrelevant. She had one hit song called Gucci Gucci and for the most part that was a song only people who go on the internet knew about.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Damn they were going in on that "5 Boroughs" track. I'm not a diehard hip hop fan but there are quite a few artists and songs that I like in the genre and my appreciation is still growing for the art. Watched the "Something From Nothing" documentary last week and I really enjoyed that.
