Shit, not me. Doe or Die and Aziatic are much better than good, and nobody can dispute those 2, so that's 2 by any count.

Pieces of a Man and AWOL are pretty good too. AZ had a damn good catalogue from 1995-2005, spotty since then. Overall he's had a hell of a career.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Around early 2000's I used to make my Jay-Z stan friends mad by telling them Aziatic was better than Blueprint(it's not really, but it's not that far off), and Doe or Die is better than Reasonable Doubt(this one I actually believe). The pairs of albums are definitely VERY similar. In the first case, Doe or Die came out first and definitely influenced Jay on Reasonable Doubt. And then Blueprint came out first and definitely influenced AZ with the soul samples sound of Aziatic.

Love all 4 of those albums, by the way. But back then I was still fighting the prop Jay-Z up at all costs and ignore the other LEGENDARY MC's that were his peers, thing that was going on.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

I'd rank them

Doe or Die
Pieces of a Man
Aziatic
A.W.O.L
Undeniable
The Format
9 Lives
Legendary

Last 3 I don't care for and are really forgettable. Listened to them all once and never again

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

I've been listening to Childish Gambino's EP recently and damn it's a very good tape.
it's smooth, has a very, very high replay value and it kinda appeals to me.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Anyone else feel like old hip hop tracks sound better in lower quality? Something about that little bit of static and roughness adds to the atmosphere, for lack of a better term, to a song. Obviously this isn't true with a lot of albums/songs but I heard two versions of I Used To Love H.E.R.; one in 240p and the other in 360p and I preferred the former.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

^ both are irrelevant rappers no one gives a fuck about

@makevali, sometimes tho. but i like it when the modern albums, any genre, have that old and classic feeling to them. GKMC comes to mind, he executed it perfectly but it could have been better. the bonus tracks and DRE features somehow ruined the album for me. only exceptional bonus track is "black boy fly", the rest are shit.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

LOL thanks for that input, I guess.

I figured out what it was about, it's nothing really, I think, just some competition. I guess it will be something only if Meek wants it to be. Meek has money so I guess he can run his mouth.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Meek Mill isn't really irrelevant.

He'll be there in a couple years cause he's a one trick pony, but not yet.
