Don't compare Pac to Ross.

Dude talked about real things. Whether he was a criminal or not I don't know but he could've been

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
What exactly did Pac talk about in his music or even in interviews that he couldn't back up?
Shit's irrelevant anyway. Pac's appeal, at least to me, was his intellect, strong spirit, and his colorful, larger than life personality. Never was a gangster rapper.

I think people are misunderstanding this post. He's not bagging on Pac, he's saying that 90% of rappers aren't what they claim to be, which is true. DMX, Nas, Pac, D-Block, all of them exaggerate shit, and that's FINE. If every MC was Beanie Sigel, hip-hop wouldn't exist, because everyone would be dead or in jail.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
Pac wasn't really about that "thug life" he spoke of, from what I've heard.

At the core, not really. He was too smart, passionate, caring, and deep to lose himself in that bullshit. But I mean it's not like he was a total pussy either. Dealing with what he dealt with not only during his career, but throughout his entire life naturally just irritated him and Suge gassing his head up didn't help either.
Regardless, I really don't want to talk about rappers being "real" because it's irrelevant. My main point in all that was Ross' personality comes off to me as disingenuous and extremely irritating. Nothing about him or his work entertains me in any way. That's all.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
I don't have a problem with you not liking Ross. He's not your cup of tea, nothing wrong with that. Based on the rappers you post about in this thread, it's not surprising that you wouldn't like Ross. Doesn't seem like your style of rapper.
