Yeah, but still, I don't think an artist is getting a John Legend or Nas feature just for a mixtape..Wasted money

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

That diss had so many quoteables. One of my favorites was:

You was wrong for making that song Tupac back
I seen the video and was like where the fuck is Tupac at?
Then I saw your boss and was like nah Tupac not fat
I had Philly on lock before Tupac got Clapped

And all of those classic beats! 2

for anyone that wants to listen

Don't know what to think of the end tbh. "Ruff Ryders gon ride with me too"? Jada has done countless songs with MMG, don't really see a reason for Styles/Sheek to get in this, and it would be sad if DMX does. Drag-On diss record incoming? . Ending also shows Cass has more songs in the vault though, I except a Ross diss in about a day.

No, he's fucking annoying, period. His voice irks my fucking soul to the core. The grunting is becoming extremely excessive to the point where it's like a crutch. "Oh can't think of a good bar, I'll just grunt."

Doesn't matter what he's saying. How he says it and that fake ass drug pushing tough guy image he's so hell bent on pushing just pisses me off. Anyone who pays attention to rap at all knows the truth about OFFICER RICKY and 50 clowned the living fuck out of him to the point where it's impossible to take him seriously. It's like if Nas wrote for Vanilla Ice. Lyrics might be dope, but it's still Vanilla Ice.

THIS SONG. First time I've heard this in years. Minus Yayo, song was ill. The beat and hook alone are addicting.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

A small reason is that most albums that appeal to guys are just downloaded off the internet, while females are likely to go and actually buy music.

I don't have a problem with Nicki being #1.....I have a problem with her being #1 off that album. It sucks and is pretty much unlistenable.

She's a more talented rapper than many of the rappers on both the '93 and 2012 lists....but that's not translating into good music for her. She needs a producer to take control of her music IMO. Like what Dre did for early Snoop and early Eminem. She needs someone to get her good beats, guide the direction of the songs/music, and to harness her weirdness/uniqueness which COULD be a strength(see Kendrick, old Busta Rhymes, etc.), but can also be a huge weakness when she basically goes off the deep end with it on some of those songs. She needs a quality control person to keep her music in check and tell her what's wack.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Cassidy didn't hit a homerun with that diss record, but it was definitely a double....maybe a triple.

It was a very good record my favorite line was:
"You know you got a problem when .....s tired of ya style after one album"
