Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
Bad Boy had other artists that were popular before and after Biggie and were still relevant many years after Biggie's death...
Bro, just because Meek had a couple songs that got a lot of radio airplay in the span of a year, doesn't mean he'll be on top for a while. Ross won't be popular forever as well. MMG will die, it's inevitable. It happens to every rap label.
But where is Roc-A-Fella now? Where is Bad Boy now? Where is Death Row now? Where is No Limit now? Where is Murder Inc now? Where is G-Unit now? Where is Cash Money now? YMCMB won't be there for the long run, just like MMG and GOOD Music won't. It's all a cycle, man.
If Tyga's songs are so much more popular than Kendrick's, why did Kendrick sell almost four times as much as Tyga? Btw, Swimming Pools peaked at #3 on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts, better than any single Tyga has ever released. And Swimming Pools also did better on the charts than every track on Meek Mill's album.
