Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
Rappers get overrated when they die, especially if they die young. It's just how it goes.
Just imagine if Lil Wayne died the week before Tha Carter III released, how crazy his hype would've been. Or 50 Cent dying after Get Rich or Die Tryin' was released/before The Massacre was released. Hell, if The Game passed after The Documentary he probably would've gotten overrated due to his death.

Kool Keith....he weird. I like Ultramagnetic MC's old school stuff, but that's where I checked out on him.

I agree with you on the whole Big L internet love. The thing is, you can have no doubt that most of it stems from youtube comments. Someone will stumble amongst a Big L track on Youtube and be like 'okay'. They'll scroll down and see the comments with the love, the whole "Big L would of been the GOAT' etc. 'Big L's lines are crazy' etc. and they'll think "oh yeah, they must know more than me, Big L is the GOAT, let me tell everyone and listen to everything" Without exploring other artists too, but hey, if there happy doing that, thats cool.

Agreed, that's exactly what it is. It annoys me. Because Big L wasn't the only dope rapper in that crew, and some classic albums came out of that collective.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
Also on some COTC songs, Mase and Cam were outshining L imo.
It's really shocking to hear Cam during that era and Cam now. Sometimes it makes you wonder what would happened if he stuck to that style, but I'm not really complaining. S.D.E & Confessions Of Fire are my least favorite Cam albums besides Crime Pays.

Yeah I remember the first time I heard "Oh Boy", and didn't even know it was Camron. He changed his style up a lot starting with that album.

Hipsters and elitists are more or less the same. Elitists are probably just the hipsters of the hipsters.
And speaking of GOAT MCs here's an interesting article
