Shit, the only time he may have came off "preachy" was with I Can which was one of his biggest hits that kids loved(because he disguised the preachiness with his voice and the hook and beat)
Nas is da G.O.A.T., but c'mon, Untitled was mad preachy.

Talent/charisma draws. Not size.

I see nothing preachy about that album whatsoever. Just because the content was drastically different than most albums, doesn't make it preachy. In fact, I thought one of the album's strengths was that Nas addressed a lot of topics without coming off condescending or preachy. He came off like a real cat just going in.

Honestly what is the definition of preachy? 2Pac is considered preachy.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Nah not barely.

Cole fucking ethered Wale on his own track FFS.

Friday Night Lights is better than anything Wale has ever dropped, Cole has better songs, better mixtapes, better production and his album was better than both Wale's albums.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Friday Night Lights seems to be Cole's ceiling imo...Haven't liked a thing he's done sense nor see why I should feel good about him working with Kendrick Lamar..

It's crazy because at one point I thought Cole would've been bigger than Drake as well as Blu being the top young gun of the west & not Kendrick..Man how things have changed

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

About to get Sean Price - Mic Tyson, and Roc Marciano - Marcberg Reloaded. Hoody and Timbs cold weather music.....I'm damn near giddy to play these.

Ethered? Cole's verse on Beautiful Bliss was good but just because it had a faster flow, and some punchlines doesn't make it an Ether.

I found Ambition to be way better than Cole World.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Good tracks on Ambition:
Double M Genius
Legendary
Chain Music (I'm in the minority on that)
Sabotage
Ambition
Focused
No Days Off is alright
DC or Nothing

Cole World? I can play the whole album outside of Can't get Enough and Work Out.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

In my opinion...
Good songs on Ambition: Double M Genius, Miami Nights, Legendary, Lotus Flower Bomb, Focused, White Linen, Ambition

I enjoyed every track on Cole World, Can't Get Enough and Work Out fill their roles, has to appeal the mainstream audience in some way. Still, I'd take Can't Get Enough or Work Out over Bait.
