Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

I agree Ether. For the impact and popularity it had, no doubt about it GROD is a classic for those terms.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

I'm Serious is the one T.I. album I would even consider calling a classic. Trap Muzik too but personally I'm Serious is one of those albums that's a soundtrack to your life[for me]. That album was a big part of mine when I was 17. Trap Muzik and the rest are all heavy commercial albums where he did a few joints strictly for the label. They banged but he was younger/hungrier on the first effort.. you can hear it in his flow. To me I'm Serious is more 'certifiable' T.I.

GRODT is a classic. Hands down. A sound track for EVERYONE back when it came out. You couldn't duck 50 back then. In Da Club when you partied. 21 Questions with your lady. Many Men with your boys. High All The Time with your weed. Love or hate it.. gotta give that album its due.

I'm listening to the leaked DMX album right now and it's not what I expected at all. In a good way.

Easily, not every album has to blow you away lyrically to be a classic. Many consider (including myself) TM101 a classic, and that album sure as fuck didn't have any blow away lyrics on it.

Do you remember this? You're underestimating the impact this album had/has. Yeah, 50 fell off after this (although the Massacre was good besides those 3 singles), but GRODT is a classic.

What's that got to do with anything? Album is terrible.

All of the songs still hold up for me besides Like my Style, Poor Lil Rich and In Da Club. And I call albums classics based on the actual songs, sales, impact, movement, lasting power, replay value, etc etc. The G-Unit movement was something else, and that was mostly all due to this album.

I found this on google and theres some good responses about 50 and GRODT in there. Just on impact alone, that album is a classic.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Not even close. Thanks for the laugh though.

I'll go back to discussing good hip-hop in other threads.

I'd like to thank you for the same thing for calling GRODT terrible

People really hate 50, only artist I've seen come close is Ross and that's only because of the CO stuff.

GRODT? A Classic? Maybe 21 Questions....but the entire album?

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread

Lyrically it's not a classic, but if you take into account the popularity and the impact it had, it is.
