Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
I thought the Game had massive potential when he first came out with "The Documentary" was a good as album but he just seemed to fall off after that...

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
Yeah Game fell off, The Documentary is a classic but after that I don't like any of his albums (not even Doctors Advocate)
Has some classic mixtapes though

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
People were waiting for a follow up to The Documentary. The stage was his and with his exit from G-Unit he had the option of working with more artists too.
And what did he do? He let the 50 beef define him instead of evolving his music and put out mediocre shit from then on out.
Dudes bipolar tendencies are hilarious too. Tries to get back with 50 every other week then disses him. His first 3 albums are filled with Jay-Z references and then he goes and disses him too. And he's constantly in interviews saying hypocritical shit about other rappers. I remember a couple years ago him talking about how he liked Ross's albums but he was relying on features too much. Then he drops RED Album with like 40,000 features and flops hard. That shit had every rapper and their momma and Game still couldn't build a buzz. He also said something about how Biggie's subject matter was one dimensional lmao. Coming from the dude that name drops in in every second bar in his songs.
What a joke.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
Dr Dre
Snoop Dogg
Kendrick Lamar
Sly
Nelly Furtado
Beanie Sigel
Rick Ross
Young Jeezy
Drake
Tyler The Creator
Lil Wayne
Big Boi
E-40
LLoyd
Mario
Wale
Chris Brown
All the features on R.E.D....and he didn't go gold. That album seriously might be the flop of the decade

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
50's problem on the other hand is that the guy never grew up. Who remembers when he released that video of him at Khaled's mom's work? Like, really?
This guy pioneered mixtape buzz. His debut was like an earthquake in the Hip Hop community. He was fucking everywhere. One of the most successful rappers ever, crazy sales all across the board and then he lets his ego destroy his legacy. Refuses to adapt to the rap game until it's too late. Refuses to stop adding to his on going list of beefs. Refuses to collaborate and intertwine with the rest of the hip hop community until it's too late. Tries to start beef with Jay to stay relevant. Twice. Lets his Mr. Untouchable ego put him in a position to take a L against Rick Ross. If that doesn't paint a perfect picture of where his career went I don't know what does.
And the lame shit continues. He's delayed this next album like 8 times and just delayed it again. And we all know just as well as he does what the numbers are going to look like.

Re: Hip Hop Discussion Thread
Man, i don't even know what's up with Game anymore. I consider him a decent MC, hell i even liked R.E.D., but what's with him copying the style of every guest on his album?

Still kills me how it sounded like he started chainsmoking daily for 6 years just to prepare for that track with Jeezy. Son's the Charlie Haas of the rap game.
