Majority of the world is homophobic. I gurantee he lost fans by admitting to his past. Now, I'm not going to say he's better than Bieber or worse because it's people out there that support both and both are doing good for themselves.
His album debuted at number #2 and he's been getting more exposure now than ever so if anything his "coming out" has boosted his career. He probably lost fans because he was affiliated with Odd Future. If you listen to their lyrics and look at their fanbase, why would anyone expect that most of the fans would be cool with it?

Dude, charting doesn't mean shit. 2 Chainz debuted at number 1. That says a lot.

But you know that for some reason, people are so homophobic that they won't even fuck with Frank anymore, no matter how good his music is. And I don't see how he lost fans by being affiliated with Odd Future, he never released his own song until he linked up with Odd Future.

Random fact

Funny how people hate Justin Bieber and say he is killing mainstream music and Frank Ocean is the savior but fail to realize that Frank has wrote for Bieber before, as well as Beyonce & John Legend.

I loe Frank Ocean's music, it's nothing like Bieber's.

Ocean ghostwriting for Beiber doesn't establish anything other than Beiber's inability to write his own songs. Ocean's not the first to ghostwrite for him either.

If he can't write then he's a puppet with a voice. His only talent comes from his odd case of "woman's voice" which has to fade soon. Once his voice finally changes, and from what I know it already has, he's Aaron Carter #2. He's just very marketable to his demographic. He doesn't have any real, standout talent. If he's still this relevant in 5 years we'll re-examine him again, but his reign as media pop sensation will fade.

But Bieber has wrote his own songs and plays a variety of instruments.

So, not writing "all" of your own songs makes you a puppet?

Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Frank Ocean (Maylay helped him write for Channel Orange), Aaliyah, Elvis Presley and likely, 90% of all time pop artists would say otherwise.

I didn't say that.

Don't compare legends to Beiber. He's nowhere near Michael Jackson status.

It doesn't matter. You're saying it like because he doesn't write all of his own songs, he's a puppet. I don't know any pop stars who wrote their entire catalog.

And you're saying that Ocean ghostwriting for Bieber only proves his inability to write songs, right? How does that only apply to Bieber and not every other pop artist?

Remember, it was a few years before Michael Jackson began writing his own music often.

Re: Why do so many people hate Justin Bieber?

Strange at how people rally so vehemently against the likes of Bieber being marketing tools shoved down their throats, and make a stand by... listening to the major label artists a few places down the charts from them?

Face it, all music is marketed and sold to you in some sort of way, whether it's my band selling merch or Lady Gaga's label spending millions on promoting her new record. If you want to draw a line then feel free, but don't act superior to a kid liking Bieber because they've been 'brainwashed' or whatever, when you're listening to Ocean or Swift or another hugely promoted musician you just happen to feel is more real.

It's all bullshit, listen to the music you like, ignore the music you don't, and if you happen to hear it on the radio or TV and it actually makes you angry, seriously re-evaluate some shit. That's not healthy.
