I still don't understand wtf the label "grunge" means, aside from some similarities in the voices all the bands sound different, has different backgrounds and influences and specially a different sound.
It's more to do with the fact that these bands all came from Seattle I think. It was just a movement of alternative music from the area labelled as 'grunge'. Someone correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not completely certain.
Oh yes, i understand that, but if you want to create a new music label, make it about you know, Music. Not Because the members of the bands live in a fucking depresion, came from the same place or look like hasn't take a bath in years.
And is specially bad when you look at labels like "post-grunge", WTF is that.

Exactly this. I told my friends that Alice in Chains is a better band than any from the grunge genre and they laughed at me.
Absolutely, they mixed metal, grunge, elements of glam, and acoustic stuff so well. They had their own genre, really. The tripod album was even getting a tad progressive. I just love that fucking band to death ...
