Do it.

I'll be sure to take a peak at them right now. Ok, 30 seconds into Volatile Times and I already think the comparison is fair. The black veil reminded me both of Gaga & Marilyn Manson. Especially when I saw the semi-corset on him during the chorus. The blood only continued to take him up to the level of his creative originality in the same lines as the others. I could see myself being very into this guy.

Funny you should mention Manson, since it's Chris Corner that produced the track "Long hard road out of hell" from the Spawn soundtrack. but yeah, Chris does have the Manson look going for him, though he channels his creativity much differently, especially in concert.

Ok, never heard Love Letter before, takes time sometimes for me to get used to a track, but it's not bad on first listen. Seems strong on the reverb though, maybe it's just Youtube.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions

I'm quite a big Bring Me The Horizon fan, its not as unpopular as it use to be, but the new album is awesome, as is the new single.

Blaqk Audio & AFI?!

I prefer AFI over Blaqk Audio (though they are pretty much equal), personal bias for Sing The Sorrow and DecemberUnderground.

Didn't think many people around here listened to them.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions

Lets go real unpopular here.

Sam Rivers, Wes Borland and John Otto receive far too much negativity simply for being associated with Freddy D. They put on stellar music over the years and if Durst wasn't such a douche LB would be far more revered.

Eighteen Visions had all the potential in the world. James Hart fucked it up himself by becoming all preppy and emo.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions

ACDC songs all sound the same. No skill in that band at all, just recycling the same riff's again and again.

Muse are boring as fuck. They put me to sleep. Matt's wailing is so bloody tiring.

Interesting you're surprised to hear about them. Always seemed to be a popular band in my eyes. Maybe watching Fuse all those years ago & being a CM Punk fan it came naturally.

AFI is pretty awesome in their own right. It's the dark electronic stylings of Blaqk Audio which really speak to me. A revelation when their first album - Cex Cells - dropped. Silver & Cold will always remain high in my heart no matter what though. Best AFI song, imo.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions

I'm bumping this thread.

For the most part, I enjoy today's alternative rock music like Daughtry, Shinedown, and Alter Bridge better than the so-called thrash bands, hair metal bands, and heavy metal bands. Not only the music is more appealing to me, the die-hard fans seemed to have more respect to opening up to other kinds of music as oppose to a stereotypical metalhead where they have this elitist attitude and think that their music is the best and every other kind of rock is crap.

They, also, think that Metallica became crap after Black Album or And Justice or Master of Puppets while they had some great stuff during that period. Load and Reload singles and other songs were all right to hear. St. Anger (ok, we all easily can say that this is not a well-crafted album, especially due to the drum sounds). I enjoyed Death Magnetic for the most part. Some good heavy songs to hear, that is well-performed live. Some may have issues with the production of it, but I have crappy speakers in the 1st place anyway, so I cannot distinguish the problem.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions

Recently went on a long drive with my Springsteen-loving Dad, and never realised until now how utterly boring the heartland-rock genre is. The overly-upbeat sounds telling the life of a blue-collar American sounds appropriate for a song or two. Not a whole album, let alone multiple albums, let alone an entire fucking subcategory of music.

I like Down better than Pantera. I wind up liking side projects more than I think I would.
