Prince is known as a pop genius.

Despite what the media may have thought back in the day, Soundgarden IS Seattle Rock. Pearl Jam comes close, but Nirvana can suck a bone.

Country up until the late 90's was actually damn good. Now it's just a few good ones.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions

Since were on the Prince topic..

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but I think that Prince's work post-80's has been mostly garbage and forgettable. However, his staggering body of work in the 80's makes him a creative genius to me.

Not really all that unpopular, almost all his best work is 1980-1986 IMO. The first couple albums in the 90's were okay but his work greatly suffered after that. He was more worried about being a 'slave to the industry' than making good music.

Cant say I know enough of Prince's post peak stuff to even have an opinion of it, I do hear the odd track here and there I like but yeah hardly on level with the classics, are there even people who try argue that?

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions

Coldplay wasn't really bad until they begin to believe their own hype. Nothing to throw hands at the sky but they weren't bad.

The first two albums were good. But yes, everything after that sucks like really badly

His Super Bowl and Hall of Fame performances were awesome too, he never really lost his edge on stage.

Yeah, and it's not even close. MJ is vastly overrated, despite his success. Prince is a better performer and singer and obviously a far more talented recording artist altogether.
