Nirvana is terrible

today's mainstream "country music" isn't country music at all and is a disgrace to the legends of country music.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions

Almost nobody is with me on this but here goes...

I'm sick and tired of all this soft shit at the NFL half time show. The biggest punk and metal acts in the world have been shafted for 40 years now.

1980s could have had any American thrash band at random and it would have buried what they showed.

How did Pantera not get a nod in the 1990s? They were humongous.

I'm amazed that Metallica or Slayer has never done it.

They've never had anybody approximating anything hard enough for the biggest football game of the year.

Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas and all that is not the target audience of NFL whatsoever. The only one I liked in the past 10 years was Prince. Come at me, fuckers.

For those who choose to still hate on it:

Keyboards are music. In fact, the best part for someone like myself.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions

Lemme think; I have unpopular opinions about everything else in existence, so I must have some concerning music to. Alright, here we go:

Finding success does not mean losing all artistic credibility. It's perfectly ok to continue liking a band once they finally get that long sought #1 song.

I like Skrillex. Bangarang is terrific and I have it on my mp3 player.

A singer doesn't have to have a good voice, just an interesting one (Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Shane MacGowan and more).

Vinyl sounds better than digital. I like the flaws.

I'm not crazy about female singer-songwriters. Some are great, but most are too soft and slow for my tastes.

I could keep going but that's enough.

Boom, nailed it.

Don't see the appeal of The Rolling Stones either.

Waits and MacGowan might just be my two favourite singers ever, top 5 at least, although id actually classify both as tehcnically 'good' singers, MacGowan at his peak is a real strong baritone and Waits' range is huge.

Vinyl - yep the best format.

Agree, and on that note, Kurt Cobain might be the most overrated guy in music history.

I'll take a Metallica show over Beyonces bullshit any day of the week.

One of my favorite singers is Bob Dylan. Many would say even in the 60's his voice was not great, but there is more to a great voice than just what it sounds like. Dylan can adapt his voice to different genres. GOAT songwriter on top of that.
